  1. The United Football League had a bay area based team in it's first season called the California Redwoods. If the PLL wanted to maintain the Redwoods name, the most logical location for them would be in Northern California.
  2. Dislike the Whips' new uniforms even more after seeing them in action.
  3. Part of me thinks those will be 2 of the cities in 2024.
  4. I feel that it would be a safe bet that if any team gets placed in Denver, they would be rebranded as a new Denver Outlaws.
  5. The font size of the NOB seems to be bigger.
  6. So these are the cities, states and regions on the PLL's radar (based on their fan vote page) I think I have a solid idea of where the 8 teams will end up being based in 2024. We'll see how it plays out though. Albany Atlanta Austin Baltimore Boston California Carolinas Charlotte Chicago Columbus Connecticut Dallas Denver Florida Great Lakes Kansas City Las Vegas Los Angeles Louisville Maryland Midwest Minneapolis Minnesota Nashville New England New York New York City Ohio Pacific Northwest Philadelphia Raleigh Rocky Mountains Salt Lake City San Diego San Francisco Seattle Texas Toronto Washington State Washington D.C. 7. If you want to have some sort of say (of at least the illusion of having it) in where the PLL teams end up next year, here is your chance. pllvote.com https://premierlacrosseleague.com/home-cities-voting
  8. Not sure how to feel about this being part of the equation
  9. The Soccer Tournament is happening right now. Some of the big clubs have taken losses
  10. My thoughts... Archers: In 2019 the Archers had the best uniform in the league whenever they wore the old blue helmets. Now, not so much. The old blue helmets were the best in the entire league up to this point. Changing the side decal from the old arrow to primary arrowhead A logo was a mistake. I've been wanting them to bring back white jerseys, but the old ones from the first season. Now I'm missing the blue jerseys. The shade of orange they use for the jerseys is hard to look at for too long. It looks like the new jerseys are based off the Championship Series unis. I much prefer the old number font. Cannons: I actually like these. Pretty sure in a previous post I mentioned the idea of each PLL team having a traditional style jersey. It makes since for the cannons to go the traditional route seeing how they originated in MLL. Atlas: Don't dislike these. They've had a consistent look in PLL since the debut, excluding the championship series. Not bad. Whipsnakes: Major downgrade! Not feeling the change to teal being the primary color. The reds were way better. The championship series whites were way better. Even the change to white facemasks on the teal helmets from dark green (possibly black) was a downgrade. I understand this league has two other original teams that wear red and dark green respectively, but the Whips should not have made this change. Not a fan of this new look at all. Chrome: Not bad. Would have preferred for the numbers on the white jerseys to be black instead of light blue. The Whipsnake and Atlas' white jerseys both have very similar color. Waterdogs: Not bad. Changing their light jersey color from that lilac/light purple to white was an upgrade. Chaos: Pretty darn good. Seems like they've taken advantage of the Whipsnakes demoting red to an accent color by switching to full red jerseys after having half red/half black for a while. Not huge on sublimated patterns on jerseys, but this helps them maintain somewhat of the wild look of their previous uniforms. Their red/white/red combo may be my favorite in the entire league now. Redwoods: Pretty good. I like that they've maintained the vertical stripes in their identity. They've improved their jersey numbers by getting rid of the outline they've previous used. Number font still could use an upgrade, but overall this is solid. Overall I like most of the new uniforms, however my two favorite identities in the league with the Archers and Whipsnakes both got hit badly by the ugly stick smh. I do like that every team has a white jersey again though.
  11. DCU fans have complained about the wear and tear on the grass from XFL. This year they appear to use a lighter coating of paint. IIRC before the Bayhawks settled in Annapolis, as a Washington based team they played home games at both Georgetown and George Mason Universities. I have my doubts about Audi Field as a PLL home stadium simply because that would be four teams (DCU, Defenders, Spirt and Whipsnakes) all playing on that field consistently from February through November. Granted the XFL and potential PLL teams would have way fewer games than the soccer teams do.
  12. I think there's going to need to be more than one Mid Atlantic team in 2024. Having a Boston based team represent all of New England may be what we are used to, but that won't fly in the Mid Atlantic. I can't even imagine a team being placed in Philly then have Paul Rabil with a straight face on camera saying this team would also represent DC, Baltimore, New Jersey, Long Island, NYC, Albany, Buffalo and Rochester.
  13. New PLL unis continued Chrome Whipsnakes Atlas Cannons
  14. New PLL Uniforms Redwoods Chas red Chaos white Waterdogs have replaced their light purples with white Waterdogs will have a third. Appears to be black
  15. I'm still not sure how they'll manage to tour neutral sites and play in home markets next year. All I know is Paul Rabil's explanation sounds more complicated than it needs to be. I think one of you guys may have actually birthed this idea before in one of the lacrosse threads over the years, but this is how I think a combo of both schedules should be handled. Let me start by saying this is assuming 1) they will remain at 8 teams for a while, 2) there will be an even geographic (ideally east/west) split of the teams in which divisions can be formed, and 3) the PLL maintains a 10 game regular season. Play division opponents twice, with those games being played in the traditional home/away model. (ie, New England @ Long Island, Texas @ Utah) Play each team from the other division once, with those games played in neutral site double headers (ie New England vs Texas 3:30pm, Long Island vs Utah 6pm in Minnesota) With 8 teams in 2 divisions playing a 10 game schedule that would make 3 home games, 3 away games and 4 neutral site games.
  16. I don't know about in other MLS stadiums they've gone to, but DC United fans have been vocal about the condition of the grass after each PLL visit. Granted once they transition to the city model, there would not be 4 lacrosse games played on a field in a 48 hour period.
  17. I think if they go to the midwest/great lakes in 2024, that Minnesota could get the nod. The fan turnout during the last 2 tours at the Vikings complex was pretty good. A Minnesota based PLL team could realistically play homes at the Vikings complex until NFL training camp began, then switch up to Minnesota United's old NASL stadium for the latter part of the season. Or just play in the old NASL stadium the entire season, which is probably cheaper. I'm going on the assumption that MLS clubs would reject a PLL team as a multi month long tenant
  18. I thought that slow start would have led to a blowout for Duke, but they managed to come back in the second half to make the game competitive.
  19. Limiting the amount of northeastern teams will be tough as there's about 10 markets in the region that could realistically work. But they don't want to make the same mistakes MLL made in regards to geography.
  20. With the exception of the original helmet and sleeve logos, the Ravens' first uniforms sucked in a major way.
