PLL released some concepts of their league logo the other day.

Realistically couldn't they have just put a team in San Jose? Wouldn't that be considered better than Oakland? I know there was an ABL team in San Jose, but didn't the two leagues run during different times of year? (ABL in fall vs WNBA in summer). I doubt the ABL had enough clout to get exclusive rights to the Bay Area market, the city of San Jose or the arena in San Jose.

Honestly I find it odd the WNBA hasn't gone to the Bay Area until now. Would have thought The Bay would have been a more attractive location for the league than Sacramento for one of the original 8 teams.

That was actually the name of a semipro league a couple of my high school teammates (and a coach) played in during the early 2000's. Not sure if it is still operating.

It sounds like Philadelphia (Chester, PA) will be part of the PLL going forward. If not as a home city to one of the 8 teams, it may be a regular championship site.

Could have sworn they said the cities would be announced during the championship game months ago.

Did anybody else watch the San Jose State/Oregon State game? This was visually odd to see during a D1 college football game. They could have at least put proper seats in the grass berm area. This side faces the hard camera. Seems like that should be a feature in an endzone feature, not a sideline.

Oddly enough both Wazzu and Oregon State played on the road against MWC teams week 1.

Now that UNLV's hopes of joining the PAC 12 are all but dead now, do they get kicked out of the Raider's stadium at some point? How long are they required to stay there? What benefit do the Raiders get in letting them occupy their stadium a couple Saturdays each fall now that UNLV is seemingly Mountain West for life? UNLV home games at Allegiant can't be a significant cash cow. I've caught a couple of their games on TV, they weren't exactly selling out the house.

Honestly surprised the Big Ten didn't take Cal and Stanford to both secure the Bay Area market, and have all the major west coast D1 programs in their conference. The scenario for Wazzu and Oregon State may be to join the Mountain West. I doubt any of remaining power conferences want either of them. On paper Wazzu and Oregon State would likely be the top teams in the MWC for pretty much every sport in the first couple of years. Guess it depends on how many current athletes would transfer out.

Not the biggest fan of the wolf head logo on NC State's helmets. Not enough red in it for me. Prefer the red NCS logo.

I'm a member of a D2 message board. They were known as TUNA around those parts by the fans of the other GSC teams (their former conference in D2).

Thought this was a decent looking game. Has TUNA (North Alabama) officially changed their colors since they moved up to FCS?

Vanderbilt looked pretty good. Sometimes teams just need to keep it simple. May have been a better looking game if Hawaii wore green pants instead of black.

Rabil's justification for the screwy playoff formats this league has been using was wanting players to get as many game checks as possible. I think there is a way to do that without allowing 87.5% of the league in to the playoffs. My solution, send the teams eliminated from playoff contention on an international tour. While the top 4 (in my ideal PLL) teams battle it out for the league championship, the bottom four could play exhibition games against national teams from outside North America.
