  1. Is Birmingham the only team in this league that has an alternate set of pants? They wear both gold and white pants, but the rest of the league seems to only has one set of pants.
  2. Rough outing for Jamaica. They have a ways to go before they can challenge the big 3 in North America. However, they may set a foundation for becoming one of the top lacrosse nations outside the continent if they can build off the success they had in the tournament prior to today's loss.
  3. An all North American final was likely going to happen regardless of how the groups were selected
  4. Jamaica has been undefeated thus far. Going to find out just how good they truly are in the quarterfinals against Canada tomorrow! They've looked good against New Zealand and European teams, but North America lacrosse is the real deal. Wish them the best!
  5. Why would they put the US, Canada and Iroquois in the same group? And why does that entire group automatically move on to the knockouts? Maybe it's my fault for assuming it would have a World Cup like random selection for the groups outside of the host nation having the A1 spot.
  6. Attendance for the Stallions/Breakers game looks decent.
  7. So pretty much each non North American team is competing to see who will finish 4th behind what ever order the US, Canada and Iroquois end up finishing? Would that be a fair observation?
  8. Is Canton close enough to Columbus where they could claim having a connection to the Columbus Crew being the reason for the color change?
  9. In fairness the Iroquois Nation can roll with the US and Canada. Feel like several players from that tribe have gone on to play NCAA lacrosse and in the pro leagues.
  10. It's the home stadium of Texas Southern University (FCS) football team. Dynamo is used to sharing the stadium, but may not have had a choice in TSU coming in.
  11. And now I know why https://worldlacrosse.sport/events/2023-world-lacrosse-mens-championship/ Had no idea Lacrosse had any sort of presence outside of North America
  12. I remember seeing that old Lions' logo in Madden games
  13. After today there are no undefeated or winless teams remaining in the league. Waterdogs come from behind win on Friday was wild. I personally enjoy having Friday Night Lacrosse on ESPN's channels, and hope it remains part of their scheduling going forward. For some odd reason the next set of games will be 3 weeks from today.
  14. I always wondered how the helmets of that era would have looked with red facemasks. In my mind it would have been an upgrade over the light orange facemasks.
  15. Even though Seattle wore blue and silver first, your point could also be applied to the Bledsoe era Patriots. Although I personally think the Patriots looked better than the pre 2002 Seattle. I think red was a better third color than green. The red accents added a nice visual pop against blue on the Patriots. The green accents of the old school Seahawks uniforms blended in too much with the blue IMO. I was never a fan of royal blue and kelly green as a color combo. The proper word escapes me at the moment, but royal and kelly shades are too similar to each other.
  16. My first guess for the Dallas area would have been the Ford Center in Frisco, TX due it having an ideal capacity. Then I remembered that the PLL runs at the same time as the early NFL and college fall seasons. That could limit the places they have as venues. Once late July comes the PLL probably would not be allowed to use the Ford Center or TCO Stadium in Minnesota due to NFL training camps. Same can said for the college venues the league has gone to once fall sports camps start in August.
  17. American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte looks like a good venue for lacrosse on TV. What was attendance for the Charlotte Hounds like during the MLL days? The venue alone has me convinced Charlotte would be a good location for a team next year. Whether or not fans would support another team there remains to be seen.
  18. Maybe Montreal should have gone with white numbers, letters and stripes instead of gray/silver. I think it would have visually popped more against the blue and black.
  19. I think I misinterpreted what the new shot clock rule was going to be. I thought all possessions would have a 32 second clock. I'm fine with it just being the possession after faceoffs.
  20. The only original PLL teams I feel need to rebrand are Chrome and Chaos. There's no reason as to why Chaos couldn't/shouldn't have been named the Scorpions... Chrome may have the best logo in the entire league. Why they chose to pair that logo with a type of metal plating instead of a type of warrior is beyond me. For some reason I was always okay with the name Atlas. Don't know why.... Whipsnakes, Archers and Redwoods sound like they could be the names of teams that that have existed for over 50 years. In addition to that, those three names are all pretty unique in the world of sports.
  21. I hate the Waterdogs name so much. I know it's a real dog breed (which is not reflected in the logo), but I don't care. Out of all the dog breeds/names they could have gone with, they landed on Waterdogs? Seriously? I know they came into the league before the merger with MLL so they probably wanted to avoid anything too close to Hounds, but even something generic like Canines would have been a better dog name IMO.
  22. I could do without the Bayhawks name being revived honestly. I blindly supported it because I'm a homer when it comes to pro sports, but the name always seemed like a Seattle Seahawks ripoff. Especially when you add the colors to the mix. To be fair, I don't dislike that color combo. I'd be on board with the colors being reused with a new name.
  23. I think the most likely outcome would be having a regional team that represents/plays home games in Annapolis, Baltimore and DC while the league is at 8 teams. Whether or not Chesapeake would be the market name would be up in the air because like @Ferdinand Cesarano said Chesapeake worked largely due to the fact the team was already named the Bayhawks before they settled in Annapolis. Chesapeake Whipsnakes wouldn't have the same ring to it honestly. I don't think the city of Annapolis has enough national notoriety to end up being the market name of a team. You'd be surprised by the amount of people that assume Baltimore is the state's capital.
