Has it been mentioned that the Panther is facing backwards here? It's not like that on the current jersey.

What do you mean? The Nike swoosh always faces towards the front of the jersey and so is the Panthers logo. That’s the same as the current jersey.

You can also see the players facemask blurred in the background, meaning this is the players back left shoulder.

Is there still a chance the Panthers change this year? If so, any leakings on what direction they could be headed?

I really hope they don't change. They absolutely nailed the jerseys from day 1. I do think silver muddies up the color scheme and would much rather them wear a blue helmet and blue pants full time. Would look fantastic with the home and away sets. But they would never make that change alone. If it even came at all, it would come with trashy "modern" jerseys that set them on the 5-year carousel to hell.

Let's hope they learned from their mistakes at QB and don't make the same with the unis. Sometimes what you have is as good as you're gonna get. Changing just to change is not the answer.

Panthers jerseys are still on discount on Fanatics, so much like Arizona you might want to prepare for some modifications.

For the Rockies: I think adding purple numbers and replacing black in the wordmark would really help to push the purple as a primary color for their home unis. I wouldn't mind them wearing full purple hats, too (at home).

You're 100% right.  TCU has purple pinstripes and accent with other purple gear and logos and it looks great.

Maybe they're bringing the teal back partially to test the response? 🤔

I wouldnt count on it.  I's an anniversary year for the Marlins.  It's possible they're used as an alternate, but I wouldn't count full time just yet.

Which makes you wonder why Higgins picked #85 to begin with. 🥴🥴

Because 5 was claimed by Ryan Finley thru the 2020 season per this history.

The league also forces players to buy the existing inventory of their old number if the player wanted to change immediately.  Dalvin Cook found this out a few years ago when he wanted to switch from 33 to 4.  It says i the below article, that "Cook learned that if he waited a year, he'd be able to make the switch at no cost. So that's what he did; the Vikings' star running back spent a fifth and final NFL season with 33 on his jersey in 2021."

FWIW - Mecum Auto Auctions is running at State Farm Stadium on those days.

Do stadiums typically close their team shops when non-football events are taking place?

I know the Buccaneers usually do for non Bucs events.  It might be a dual purpose closing just based on timing.

No. It's not implied. The Braves wore their throwbacks for multiple games, even if they were never technically designated as an alternate. Therefore, they would not fall under the "one game use". When you see teams wearing Negro League throwbacks, they're not counted as an alternate. Merely throwbacks for THAT game.

Maybe they will use these in games where they would've worn those specific throwbacks. But the tweet above does not seem to preclude the use of throwbacks for one game.

I believe under pre 2023 rules, the throwback could be worn no more than 5 times as this is what the Rays have done with the Devil Rays throwbacks.  Moving forward from 2023 onward, the Devil Rays throwback is an official alternate on the books and will be worn Opening Day and every Friday home game (14 games in 2023)

Honestly, I feel like in a few years, they'll pull back on this rule.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.  With now allowing 0 and the kicker/punter rule, its essentially no different than the college football rules.

It's really a very minor change to the league.  It's not like they added a 12th eligible player or something odd like that.

I'm a South Florida fan, and the chrome helmet DOES look bad (specifically the gold one, but the lime green one too.  Fans don't like them either.  Thankfully the gold chrome seems to be out of the rotation as of last season

I think many if not all of the remaining teams have said theirs is coming in '24.  I know that the Phillies have.

The Rays may not have said it officially, but the local beat writer for the team reported it last year when talk of dropping the gray jersey started.

Looks very much to me like the Panther's draft caps have dropped silver entirely.

Can't quite tell if the threads inside the text are silver, but it looks like the "no silver"rumors are true.

    Fanatics Site

Not exactly, the full color version of the hat has silver letters

All of the team color hats seem to be the primary jersey color, outside of Baltimore (Ravens hat is black).

Might be a clue that the Panthers will have a blue home jersey...

Apparently, all of the Cardinals jerseys on Fanatics are heavily discounted now.

Normally I'd chalk this up to Fanatics and their ever rotating discounts codes, but today is just a fee shipping offer and all of them look to be about 25% off for now.

I checked a few other teams that we know aren't changing and the discounts aren't there.

    Something is definitely afoot....

  13. I've always wondered if the WBC could work as a fall tournament in November.  I know football is king that time of year, but other than March I can't see another possible option.  I would doubt MLB would pause the season or have this run concurrently in June/July.
