They're massive. And on BOTH sleeves??
FU MLB
No. Simmer down.
It's not both sleeves. Pitchers can opt to have it on their non-throwing arm if the primary side sleeve is their throwing side.
Position players might have this option if they bat left or right, but either way every player will have 1 ad patch.

the entire USA set needs an update. it's truly terrible.
btw, if MLB wants to make this a global showcase, how about some promotion? the tournament starts in just over a month. let's see some unis! and MLB has virtually no merch available. nuts.
Thats about normal for MLB merch too. Usually the spring training gear is released in February, so with WBC rosters set to come out next week or so, the gear probably isnt far behind.

Reading some of the additional coverage from down there, apparently the idea is that having a stadium as the anchor of a broader development district will make the location more of a draw. So instead of only going their for a ballgame, it would feature restaurants, shops and probably living spaces that would make it more of a destination.
Exactly, they’re looking in the direction of what the Braves have done.
Tampa proper might be the preferable location, but if St Pete cooperating keeps the team in the Tampa Bay area, then so be it.

A couple things,
First, did the Mariners ever wear their light blue Spring Training jerseys during the regular season, or are they including ST jerseys in the 4+1? A lot of teams, such as the Cardinals, use them for ST and BP, but have never worn them in a regular season game (although I think they have openly discussed it). Does that mean they and any team that already has 4 in addition to ST jerseys have to ditch one?
Second, just an observational opinion, but, as most have mentioned the Rays using the light blue jerseys on the road and hoping they match the pants, most likely the navy is gonna be the default primary aways since that's when the mostly wore them.
This was your daily dose of inspirational, thought-provoking commentary. Carry on.
- I don't believe Seattle wore the light blue jerseys in the regular season. Not sure if they count as part of 4+1.
- Rays light blue on the road would look bad with the gray pants. Those are two colors that shouldn't pair together. I hope the Rays are considering light blue road pants, which then could pair with both the navy jersey or the light blue jersey.

Probably because the Rays' grays were just kinda there, while the Mariners' grays were actually good looking.
The Rays rarely used their grays on the road for the past 3 seasons or so, and usually only when it clashed against a home team in navy.

That Dolphins field is way too busy, no need for the NFL Playoffs logos when there's the Wild Card logos. Also, love that you added the baseball cutouts at the Vet and Metro Dome.
Dolphins may have been painting over advertisers for the Orange Bowl game that was likely played a week or so before the playoffs.

do the flags have to be that big?
That large flags as well as the gray underbrim make me think this might not be real. I know the 59Fifty BP and spring training caps have the gray, but usually they on-field caps are black underbrim.

I think BUF and DAL need to swap QB's. They need a change of scenery

It could be the Championship location again.
That too, but if so why bring the Pittsburgh head coach? Might be announcing both. The only reason Canton hosted the playoffs was because of a prior commitment in Birmingham.

Canton might be the rumored 4th competition hub. Currently there is Birmingham hosting the Stallions and Breakers and Memphis hosting the Showboats and Gamblers. The reports are that Detroit will be a hub and now maybe Canton. Michigan and Pittsburgh would be the "hosts" with the Stars and Generals split among the two locations.

Oh wow. Guess maybe the Nike contract didn’t carry over to the WBC. Majestic seemed to have done most of the previous WBC uniforms (minus hats)

Are we sure this is valid? I would doubt Adidas is making the jerseys. I know Japan has their own manufacturers deal, but wouldnt Nike make the WBC unis?

It was open for Super Bowl XLIX.
Ah interesting. I know it's been closed in places like Atlanta and Houston, but I suppose its dependent on the days weather.

Lots of colors in this years logo, which should look great with the late afternoon sun.
Arizona has a roof and will probably be closed for the Super Bowl.

Are the Spring Training/Batting Practice caps staying the same this year? I know there are new logos for the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues but are there any changes to the overall style. There were lots of complaints last year about wearing the trucker style, any word of the material will change?
It seems that usually the caps are on a 2 year cycle, so in that case they'll remain unchanged. I would think they could change the mesh option, but if theres a change we'll probably see in February.

NFL has announced the 5 international game “home” teams for 2023:
• Wembley Stadium - Jaguars• Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Bills
• Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Titans
• Germany - Chiefs
• Germany - Patriots
No word on opponents. Looks like Mexico City has been replaced by a second Germany game.
Azteca Stadium in Mexico City is going thru renovations this year, so the game is not happening in 2023.

No, one more season thru the end of the 23-24 season.

Something like this could be a start for a clean, bold font that works in athletics while still having some gothic character:

Great news! Now teams that only need two uniforms will have five uniforms. If Nike wants to streamline uniforms, they have a funny way of showing it.

The way I read this was that teams who have gone crazy with alternates (such as Arizona) will have to pair things down to four options, not that teams who don't have any alternates (Yankees, Tigers, etc.) will be forced to adopt new ones.I read it the same as @coco1997. It's never said that teams will have to have 4+1, just sounds like that would be the maximum.
Now thinking about it, there are a few teams that will have to potentially unload a jersey.
- Mariners (home, road, cream, navy, teal)
- Red Sox (home, road, red, blue, Patriots Day?)
- Rangers (home, road, light blue, royal, red)
- D-Backs (home, road, home w/aqua, black, red)
- Phillies (home, road, red, cream, blue throwback)
- Pirates (home, road, white military, Pirates black, Pittsburgh black)
- Blue Jays (home, road, royal, light blue, red?)

I haven't been down to Tampa in a few years, ao things may have changed—but wasn't/isn't there still a patch of green space next to the RayJay to the north, across from the Tampa Yankees park? Is there a good reason the Rays can't fit one in there? (I don't know, I'm just curious.)
Yes, the are north of Raymond James Stadium is currently parking lots for gameday. It used to be home to old Tampa Stadium. It hasnt been a site spoken about in the limited talks. My hunch is that since its directly across the street from the Yankees complex, it's not considered due to optics.

The Rays have been winning, so if they had a stadium similar to what the Twins have at Target Field, they might get a nice crowd.
Location of any future Rays stadium is KEY. If it remains in St Pete, it will have a spike in attendance and then settle out fast. A stadium in Tampa proper will have more population to draw from and likely will carry over best.

Well sunset In Minneapolis today is in less than an hour, so the sun is pretty low in the sky.
