  1. Kyle Busch will be joining RCR in 2023 and driving the #8.

Tyler Reddick, who currently drives the #8 was set to leave RCR after 2023 to join 23XI, but now I'm curious what this will do for Reddick.  Assuming he stays with RCR with a new third car, but a move to 23XI a year early to a new third car is possible.

Edit:  Looks like a third charter for RCR and Reddick will be in place for 2023

Another random observation: Vanderbilt's jerseys still have the old star logo on the collars, despite the rebrand. Very interesting detail.

Many college teams get jerseys in cycles and use for a few years.  South Florida just got new home and road looks, but the black with lime alternates this week were the same unis as the past couple years just with a new black helmet.

The orange here looks worse than the orange in the Elway pic.

Although they could be the same shade and it's just the better camera quality

I'm pretty sure the Broncos regular orange jerseys are a different shade as their Color Rush orange jerseys.

Way back when, the NFL had a lot of preseason games outside the US and teams that participated got an extra preseason game. This was also a time when a lot of NFL teams played in baseball stadiums and preseason games would be at neutral sites or nearby college venues.

I seem to recall in maybe 1998 that the Buccaneers played the Chiefs at the University of Oklahoma

Old Dominion vs Virginia Tech was fun to watch on ESPNU tonight. I'm not sure why, but I want the Sun Belt Conference to do well.

Games like this one are why the 12 team

playoff will be interesting.  Anything can happen.

An expansion would be a nice change of pace. Right now... its so predictable. The same 7 teams fight for 4 spots, and the title picture has become stagnant.

Agreed.  12 teams is good for the time being.  I believe the last proposal was to have the top 6 ranked conference champs be guaranteed in the playoffs, not necessarily the Power 5 plus 1.  The remaining 6 would be at large.  The top 4 ranked conference champs would be seeded and get a first round bye.

It’s crazy to me that the Capitals haven’t changed their uniforms since the 07 edge release.

I wouldn't have expected a wholesale changeover, but keep the logo and update the uniforms.  Maybe add a logo crest for a jersey, and relegate the script to wordmark only.

The Dallas Cowboys have released their kicker, long snapper and three of their four QB's on the roster.  The reason explained is that the Cowboys want to wait 24 hours to bring those guys back once they put a few more players on injured reserve.  It was explained that putting players on injured reserve on Wednesday rather than Tuesday means those players can come back sometime during the season.

As it stands right now, the only QB on the Cowboys roster is Dak Prescott.  The only specialist is Bryan Anger.

Bucs did the same with Logan Ryan, in assumption that Ryan Jensen is going on the IR today.  I assume most of the guys the Cowboys cut were vested veterans, who dont go thru waivers and become free agents.  In that case, they just hold tight and sign back the next day or so.

The alignment that I favour is similar to yours, except I retain the name Central Division.  The distribution of teams in the American League is exactly the same; and in the National League I have Cincinnati in the Central and Colorado in the South.

    AL

    NL

    EAST: Balt Bos NY Tor

    EAST: Mon NY Pha Pitt

    SOUTH: Cha Hou TB Tex

    SOUTH: Atl Col Mia Wash

    CENTRAL: Chi Cle Det Min

    CENTRAL: Chi Cin Mil StL

    WEST: KC LA Oak Sea

    WEST: Ariz LA SD SF

Colorado in the south makes that division spread across 3 time zones.  Not ideal for divisional TV matchups.  I know its not traditional, but at least with Colorado in the central and Cincinnati in the South it would have the divisions either in the same time zone, or one away in Colorado's case.

  10. So if shirt color in the leaks is the jersey color, the Lightning appear to be headed towards a white version of the 90s storm alternate.

Panthers light blue with the original hockey stick palm tree logo?

Some of the photos got cut off of the preview, but if you click in you can see them all.

I almost instinctually posted that you were wrong and that the stadium and those unis debuted simultaneously, but then I looked it up and…

My mind is completely blown. I had absolutely no idea that this current uni set was old enough to have seen SDS. That’s insane. When you put it that way, I think they basically have to change their look and soon. That’s FAR too long for any team to look that meh to bad.

I believe the Cardinals were supposed to open the new stadium that year, but I think there were construction delays.

How will MLB's new scheduling format really work if the Padres for instance are gonna have one series against each from the American League? Will they rotate who plays at home every other year?

That's the thought.  I would think we'll know more in the next few months.  Usually the next seasons schedule comes out in September.

Most American sports that have the teams in the Final that have not or may have not met in the regular season.

    It needs to be fixed.

Not exactly.  NBA and NHL play all teams, so at minimum the final 2 teams have played at least twice.  MLB will be fixing this next year, as all 30 teams will play at least 1 series each season starting in 2023.  The NFL is the one where it has the least chance to occur, but you cant have a 30+ week NFL season.
