Article came out from the Detroit News the other day about USFL North division hubs.

Looks like the league is evaluating venues in the Detroit area now, and is prioritizing  stadiums that have turf surface to withstand  hosting multiple teams, as well as have sufficient locker room/training facilities and TV broadcasting infrastructure. They've apparently reached out to Eastern Michigan University about using  Rynearson Stadium .

Oooh fun, possible gray turf 🤢

Does anyone know when the Red Wings are first wearing their RR jerseys?

    Per this article

    https://www.mlive.com/redwings/2022/10/red-wings-nhl-unveil-2022-reverse-retro-jerseys.html

    Quote

They will debut Nov. 28 against Toronto at Little Caesars Arena. They also are scheduled to be worn Dec. 13 vs. Carolina, Dec. 31 vs. Ottawa, Jan. 10 vs. Winnipeg, Jan. 24 vs. San Jose and Feb. 11 vs. Vancouver.

Source of this? If it's real, I'm disappointed.  They REALLY need outlines and neck Piping. Also, no Gray uniform is a BIG NO.

Get used to it, I think the trend is shifting slightly.  The Rays beat writer for the Tampa Bay Times confirmed the Rays were dropping the gray jersey in 2023.  No word on if the navy or columbia blue jerseys will get a redesign but the color will stay.

Yesterday the Ducks Adidas jersey was £160-ish on the International NHL shop. I decided to sleep on it... and now it's £240.

Unless there's a sale in the next couple of weeks, I might be settling for the Fanatics version.

Monitor it for a bit, Fanatics (who runs that shop) is known to rotate their discount codes and you may find it for a good price if you wait.  Especially with Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals possible in the next few weeks around American Thanksgiving.

Also check other Fanatics family sites like Fanatics.com or Fansedge.com.  Sometimes you can get the same product for better prices depending on what promo code each sit is running at the time.

As far as the turf thing goes I saw an article which pointed to the fields that use "slim fit turf" whatever that is. I think if you are going to have turf there definitely has to be uniformity amongst the turf. I know everyone wants grass but how are you going to have grass at a place like the Superdome? I know grass trays are possible but the Texans ditched grass for just that exact reason. One step forward two steps back

…and the Texans even had the retractable roof on NRG Stadium.  MLB has also had places like Arizona and Miami switch to turf with the retractable roofs.

Do Bucs pewter jerseys still exist or are they phasing them out in prep to be replaced by the throwbacks? Pretty sure they could have both if they wanted to but guess it’s not worth it if they’re going to wear white at home so much.

The Bucs have not released a complete uniform schedule for 2022, and chose to unveil unis on a weekly basis.

There are three remaining TB home games.  Week 17 is assumed to be white jerseys since Carolina has designated light blue that week, but as weve seen this year color v color with contrast has happened (Chicago v Dallas, as well as TB pewters at Denver in 2021 i think).  The other two options would be Week 13 MNF against New Orleans who is wearing the Color Rush with alternate helmet or Week 15 against Cincinnati.

I'd prefer they wear the pewters against Cincinnati, but my gut says its MNF against the Saints.

I will say, though, that I like the Vegas logo a whole lot more now that the fang aspect has been pointed out to me.  I feel dumb not noticing that earlier, but I suppose the Tampa attempt at a snake's head was in my head.

There was an alternate snake head Vipers logo for Tampa Bay.  It wasnt used much.

Literally only NE, Cincy, LA Rams and Chargers have dropped the TV numbers. Yeah that isn't "Half the league." Plus Chargers put the numbers on the helmet. Again leaving the shoulders blank looks like college uniforms

Should we removed name plates on the back?

No, but all of those teams have rebranded in the last few years.  I wouldn't expect existing teams to just remove the TV numbers "just because" but if a team redesigns the uniforms I could see more teams remove the TV numbers moving forward.

I’m pretty sure the local simulcast of Houston/Philadelphia TNF was supposed to be on FOX, but now the World Series will be on FOX during that time slot. Obviously this hasn’t happened before - I wonder what the plan is. Pretty sure the TNF simulcast has to be on OTA TV, so I assume the WS moves to FS1 (which would suck in the event it’s a clinching game)?  Unless I’m wrong that TNF was going to be on FOX, but that’s what I’ve read.

The over the air broadcast I believe is a local agreement, so each city is different.  This year, Bucs-Ravens TNF game was on Tampa's Fox affiliate, but in past seasons if the Bucs were on NFL Network or cable only, the games were on second tier independent local network channels.

It was a literally a video game move and I still can't believe it worked. I've been watching NASCAR since the 70's and I've never seen anything like it. I honestly thought the video had been sped up when I saw the replay. It just might be the most amazing thing I've ever seen in a race.

    https://twitter.com/NASCAR/status/1586835925174128641?s=20&t=ZfN8xtpFucO5AfVGYttTqQ

They said on the broadcast that Chastain's lap time for the final lap was 2.5 seconds faster than the winner's final lap.

Unreal.  Looked like me playing PS4

Only way it happens is with a dome. After New York, the NFL will never play an outdoor championship at a neutral site again. That's why I love watching the Grey Cup with a foot of snow on the field over a sterile game with only 10% of each team's actual fans in attendance.

A dome and a ton more hotel rooms...

NFL regular season should be an 18 game schedule with 2 bye weeks per team OR 18 games with a league wide standard mid season break.

Maybe to the two bye weeks, but a standard mid season break would never happen.  Theres no chance the league would just go dormant for a week and have nothing to broadcast.
