Another region that you hear that isn't as obvious is Tampa Bay.  I think it's fair that Tampa wouldn't have teams if not for the supplemental population provided by St. Petersburg and Clearwater, so it probably makes sense to go with a regional name there too.

Youre exactly right there.  Tampa Bay works because the region is kinda stuck in a twin cities mentality (with St Pete being the main cause, but Clearwater sure does add population).  To this day you still hear the arguments against going across one of the 3 bridges from county to county.

If the teams here were just called "Tampa", and the way things are and have been you'd essentially be cutting off your fanbase just because of it.

I don't really get the Fromm pick for Buffalo. They can win now and would be better served by an experienced backup (Dalton?) than a rookie.

Unless they're keeping out of the conference/division, which, whatever, seems a little too cute by half.

Dalton would have required a trade.  Fromm is cheaper as well.

If they can add Create-A-Team back in, then it's a definite buy for me.

But yeah, something was always off to me with the Rams and Chargers in the previous installment. Plus knowing the Raiders were moving always felt pointless keeping them in Oakland in the game.

Yeah I know sometimes in previous years if you're playing franchise mode, theyll relocate the team to a model of the new stadium the year prior, but that did not occur in Madden 20 to my understanding

    Hi. They are.

At the very least, they're a good place to start from for an update. The 2004 uniforms have never worked. They were slightly improved by Nike in 2012, but they're stale and bad and tired and the color rush is new and clean and fresh.

Agreed, those Bengals CR white unis are a solid foundation.  Mix in a touch of orange in the sleeves and pant stripes.  I've also always thought the Bengals should be an orange home jersey team, would you agree or would you prefer black @Sport

The helmet numbers effectively replace the TV numbers.

I never thought we'd see helmet numbers again, because of merchandising.  What number do people that want a helmet buy?  You don't want to get a player one, because like a jersey, it'd be out of date when the player leaves.  Also, in promotional material, what number do they use?  Some of that material (like pennants) get used for years, so can't be player specific.

I think putting "L A" in place of the numbers would have been a good compromise between the look of the numbers, but more practicality, and cement them as an LA team.

Good question... I know U of Alabama retail helmets sell with the number of national titles they have on the helmet, so something with precedent like that would work.  Maybe the year the franchise was established?

    Thanks for the links!

I'm glad I'm not the only one hating the mustard helmets.

How is #27 ranked so high?  Yikes.

    #15 is #1 for me!

#2: love the pink and square numbers.

I just want the chrome helmets back.

The chrome gold ones are not really liked by the fanbase.  The mustard gold is something I have been fond of more recently, since it seems they have a better ability to match the golds, but the green lids are my favorites.

  7. Ok so with only the Rams and Chargers left here is my list of current unveils for 2020 ranked best to worst.

  8. I've never been a fan of the Patriots uniforms since the 2000's design, but this new for 2020 set is a solid downgrade.

I get the move for simplification (which when done well, is great), but the clunky number font with inconsistencies is weird.  The mono blue is a bad choice, despite it being what the Color Rush alts were previously.

Maybe we can hope silver pants can come quickly, much like the Browns have said they'll work to have an orange set for 2020.

Word marks on the chest of jerseys need to stop.

Eh, im indifferent.  I think it works for some teams but not all, and thats OK.  Like the Packers and Steelers dont have to.  The Redskins didnt have to, but did, and it looks fine.  Teams like the Ravens, Pats, Bucs, etc all look fine.

Sure its geographic, still a garbage division quality wise. I think you're right by saying come August; how are teams going to survive in the AZ heat?Surely not everyone can play a Chase Field all the time. I'm not from the Area, but would Florida have enough venues to support all 30 teams with present and past spring parks (Hammond Stadium, Cocoa Beach, Disney World Braves etc.)?

Florida is much more spread out when it comes to venues.  If you're working with 30 teams, some could potentially have to travel 4 hours (West Palm to Tampa) for games.  Yes you could add places like former venues such as Disney, Space Coast (former Nationals), Dodgertown, as well as the Trop and Marlins Park or some college stadiums like USF in Tampa, UCF in Orlando, or UM in Miami. If the point is limiting travel and quarantining Florida isnt the best bet.  Also weather becomes a daily issue once the summer rainy season kicks in around May-June and lasts thru September-October.

The Miami metro area is also a huge hotspot for Covid right now, so that would be a major concern too.

Arizona would be better for 30 since all would be within the Phoenix metro area, but still has its downsides like the oppressive heat.
