Ducks might finally get a much needed rebranding

While I'm all for this, this will be the second time they've done this now lol.

You know they'll eventually have to have a black third though, because black sells, and in that case I'd bring back the anniversary hybrid from a few years ago.

People remember the Cavs rebrand a while back right? To me this new jazz set is this but a completely new color scheme for the franchise. There have been a lot of jerseys that are simple/clean. Some people hate it, some love it.

I loved this Cleveland set. Even the Navy jersey. What they wear now is somewhere between meh and garbage and the forcing of black into because of a championship won in tshirts that should have never existed makes it worse.

The stripes on the shoulder and shorts trim alone give it more life than those Jazz practice jerseys. Also I think wine and gold lends itself to stand out on it's own more than generic black or retina burning yellow does.

When it comes to the Jazz I'll always been one for the Purple/Sky mountain set but I thought the current scheme worked too, even if I preferred purple to navy. But they ruined those when they decided to cut the side panels in half diagonally for some reason.

I’m not sure where to post this, but I think this is the best place to mention this, but apparently there was a Baltimore Ravens “Throwback” quickly-pulled-from-production mini helmet that had the 1996-98 front-facing swooping bird on it (the same one that adorned the sleeves in that same timeframe) on eBay. (Sorry, as well—I got outbid on it. Lousy timing, ending during my work shift.)

This brings up a few intriguing questions: Did the Ravens ever plan on using this logo? Was it after the logo lawsuit, or was it supposed to be the primary logo?  Is this the closest the Ravens could legally get to the winged B-Shield, or was this a fabrication from someone wanting to trick someone into buying it?

Here are the screenshots for reference:

Similarly, there was a 1993-94 Jacksonville Jaguars Leaping Jaguar mini helmet that was on Ebay. While most people here know about the original unused Jaguars helmet and logo, what’s interesting is that on the bottom of the box where all 30 teams (as of 1995), the Jaguars were in the NFC “West” while the Panthers were in the AFC Central. Was this the original plan for the 1995 expansion?

Here's the screenshot of the division from the Jaguars helmet listing:

Apologies if the images don't show up or if there's some kind of policy where I shouldn't post these, but this is in case the links don't work and are just to make sure that these images remain after the (already ended) eBay listings are taken down.

I have a Jaguars helmet with the unused logo.

Todays look was red caps on the road.  So thats red every game they've worn them except the one yesterday where they wore the alt snake black hat. The regular black hats have not been worn yet this year.  And yeah, they look a lot more like they did when they first rebranded to this color scheme back in 2007.

I bet because it's new they're wearing the crap out of it early in the year to get more visibility and it'll probably be used less the more we get into summer.

I should be clear, I don't think they need a black helmet, but the current iteration is this:

Philadelphia Eagles opponents 2021: Complete list, early look at team's offseason needs - DraftKings Nation

Where PFF ranks every Eagles position heading into 2021: Defense - The Liberty Line

The green only *really* shows in the spots reflecting the lights. Otherwise, it's almost unnoticeably dark. If the new helmets don't feature wings or they come with a satin or matte finish, it will be much more noticeable.

I'm mad they stopped wearing white pants with these because mono-black is the cool thing to do.

If I'm remembering right,  they changed in '03 (when they first added black trim), again in '09 (the second black trim uniform), and in '17 with the current. That's a lot for the NFL.  Not as much as Jacksonville, I guess, but more than most. They should consider some continuity.

Their most recent ones would be fine with a few minor tweaks like removing all traces of anthracite and the wordmarks on the sleeves.

And instead of being a separate jersey, the black & gold look the team teased is just this jersey turned inside out.

As a fashion jersey? Gorgeous. But these should have stayed on Justin Bieber and not the players.

I know you meant Spurs but you wrote Suns twice.  Wonder if they're going the Miami Vice route and rotate through every Fiesta color, e.g., orange and/or pink next two seasons, followed by ransom note.

I did mean Spurs, doh. And let's hope not on the ransom note one lol.

-Hawks: No bad I like em.

-Celtics: Meh, better than some of their recent ones.

-BKLN: The black version of these wasn't good either.

    -Bulls: ...

-Cavs: 'The Land' will always be stupid.

    -Mavs: I actually like these

-Nuggets: Is that a gray gradient on the side? If so why?

    -GS: WTF!?!

-Clippers: They just love forcing black don't they?

    -Lakers: more BFBS

-Memphis: Looks like the early 00s Kings.

    -Heat: ditto Nets

-Bucks: more blue cause of lakes or something.

-Knicks: couldn't tell the difference between this and the black ones they're wearing this year. Either way BFBS.

-NOLA: Didn't they already have this but with sleeves?

-Thunder: more boredom from them and GFGS/

-Sixers: wow this are extremely boring and that's a mouthful to put on a front of a jersey. Running out of ideas? Still better than the boathouse row abominations though.

-Suns: isn't their a bunch of college teams doing this currenty?

-Blazers: That's cool I guess, but the fact teal isn't part of their identity it's bothering.

    -Suns: Fantastic, my favorites.

-Raptors: Is there a sublimated pattern I'm missing? Cause these just look like they're old alternates just with 'Toronto' instead of 'Raptors'

-Wizards: I like pink and these remind me of the pink city Heat from a few years back, I just don't know why they're pink.

TLDR version: Spurs and Mavs are the only good ones, rest range from meh to awful.

Not sure if posted, but the nine teams that will have alternate helmets in 2022 are:

    Arizona

    Carolina

    Chicago

    Cincinnati

    Houston

    New Orleans

    New York Jets

    Philadelphia

    Washington

You didn't hear it from me 🤫

Where's Tampa and NE? We already know those are coming back and I'm pretty sure Dallas' old thanksgiving jerseys are still in the style guide too.

So while I'm very skeptical I'll add my 2 cents just for fun:

Arizona - guessing this is black for their two black jerseys.

Carolina - probably black but hopefully blue.

Chicago - Do they have any other helmet color in their history that I'm missing? This can't be true.

Cincinnati - most likely white, outside shot of another orange for throwbacks.

    Houston - Old white prototype?

New Orleans - old gold to match throwbacks

New York Jets - no doubt in my mind this would be BFBS.

Philadelphia - 100% the kelly green. All but confirmed.

    Washington - we already saw.
