  1. The "Royals" name was actually chosen for the American Royal horse show not royalty, the Kings when they came to Kansas City were already known as the Royals in Cincinnati and Rochester before coming to Kansas City, and the Monarchs I don't know how they got their name, but they our the first to start that royalty theme in Kansas City.

Good job, for the following suggestions I laid out earlier regarding these teams, I have ideas for how they could work with a name change that fits the city Monterrey Expos > Monterrey Sultanes New Jersey Expos > New Jersey Cherries Sacramento Giants/Athletics > Sacramento Governors San Jose Giants/Athletics > San Jose Bees San Juan Expos > San Juan Crabbers

Nice job on the Metspos! Are we also gonna get the Rayspos soon?, because I'm sure everyone could a recall a time when the Rays were considering a timeshare between Tampa and Montreal for home games.
  4. In honor of the 2023-24 NFL season kicking off, I have assembled together my first Super Bowl field with colored teamboxes that features my official Super Bowl matchup prediction for Super Bowl LVIII. Super Bowl LVIII - Chiefs vs. Lions
  5. When Lamar Hunt was moving the AFL's Dallas Texans one of the names that was considered before settling on "Chiefs" was "Stars", In this alternate universe I did my own take on what a "Kansas City Stars" franchise would look like, as the "Stars" nickname is chosen over Royals, Chiefs, or Mules. For this concept, I went with a space themed football team which isn't really common in gridiron football, a team with this name might fit a city like Houston more, but I managed to make a fit in Kansas City. Especially considering there are teams named the Dodgers and Lakers in LA, and the Jazz in Utah. BRANDING The font I used for the wordmarks and insignias was Paladins Expanded EXTRA WORDMARKS/INSIGNIAS For the extra insignias, I decided to make a new smaller "quilt format" so that the extra wordmarks, insignias, and the helmet logo could all fit on the same slide. FIELD AND UNIFORMS For the uniforms, there's a 7-piece uniform set with a Dallas Texans fauxback and since this is a Hunt family-owned team all the uniforms have the commemorative AFL patch much like the Chiefs in our timeline, the font I used for the jersey numbers was Electron Pulse. EXTRA FIELDS I designed 2 extra home fields with starry yellow endzones and black endzones, as well as custom Super Bowl fields for the Chiefs/Stars recent Super Bowl appearances.
  6. Very nice mockup TNF schedule, I wonder if whoever made those mock scorebugs on that other thread can do something with these expansion logos.

You could make Sacramento purple and silver like the Kings or maybe the Sacramento Giants change their name to the "Sacramento Solons" for one of them. I think you're also missing the Salt Lake Twins in this set as well.

Good job on the Pittsburgh Tigers! I noticed that while looking through the list you were also missing New Jersey Expos and Sacramento Giants/Athletics.

I suggested basically the same thing, but with the Cardinals keeping their original "Browns" name predating the AL franchise now known as the Orioles. Also there's been a lot of rumors about the White Sox potentially moving to Nashville https://sports.yahoo.com/nashville-linked-possible-chicago-white-194700623.html

Good job on the Milwaukee Brewers (Cardinals) set!, I also don't think you've done San Jose Giants/Athletics though.
  11. I decided to return to this thread specifically for a bonus concept I put together this morning after finished up my football Blues concept in the "Into the 816-Verse" series, this is the original concept of this thread but with the insignia changed to something that resembles the UniWatch football Royals design (which is just the baseball Royals' City Connect logo), the insignia is reused from my Blues (NFL) concept, and the font used for the insignias was Retrolight. BRANDING For the new insignia logos, I decided to not make versions of the insignias with colored outlines because I thought they didn't look too good on my Blues concept, so I opted to just a make bunch of multicolor insignia designs, which you'll see on the next slide. EXTRA INSIGNIAS FIELD AND UNIFORMS Not much changes were needed to be made to the field and uniforms besides the obvious logo change EXTRA FIELDS For the "Extra Fields" section I assembled a Super Bowl LIV and LV field that weren't in the original concept, but I put them in anyway.

@MJD7 Here are the sources for each of my suggestions Boston Red Sox (Braves) - http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/atl/history/story_of_the_braves.jsp, franchise started as the Cincinnati Red Stockings before moving to Boston and becoming the Red Stockings, of course their name would be the Red Sox in the present day. Buffalo Senators (II) - https://www.wgrz.com/article/news/local/unknown-stories/unknown-stories-of-wny-a-parade-of-plans-a-look-back-at-buffalo-bills-stadium-proposals-of-the-past/71-023bcf01-8e93-4c51-9e7c-4bf1a2972a71 Grand Rapids Rippers (Guardians/Indians) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Cleveland_Guardians Montreal Expos (Rays) - https://www.axios.com/local/tampa-bay/2022/01/21/mlb-squashes-rays-split-city-plan Sioux City Cornhuskers (White Sox) - https://myweb.uiowa.edu/jwolcott/Baseball/ St. Louis Browns (Cardinals) - https://www.mlb.com/cardinals/history/timeline Austin, Charlotte, Hartford, Indianapolis, Nashville, Portland, or San Antonio Rays - https://bleacherreport.com/articles/743330-mlb-realignment-7-cities-the-tampa-rays-could-relocate-to-if-needed This suggestion is wildly more speculative than the others, but I do know that someone posted a link indicating that Nashville would be interested in landing the Rays if they don't stay in Tampa Bay.
  14. Before the Kansas City Cowboys, the nickname of Kansas City's first NFL team was the Blues, who were known as such only for their inaugual 1924 season. For the logo, I chose a music notes with two footballs being the "heads" of the note, the color scheme is a basic blue, cyan, and white. The font used for the wordmarks, insignias, and jersey numbers was Retrolight. BRANDING It's merely a coincidence, but the insignia logos I designed do look similar to the Royals City Connect logos. EXTRA WORDMARKS/INSIGNIAS I designed an extra blue and white wordmark for the uniforms, because when attaching the regular wordmarks they were pretty hard to see, so I made bold versions for the uniforms and the helmets have the main logo with a white outline. FIELD AND UNIFORMS I originally wanted to do cyan "Blues" wordmarks on the endzones, but that didn't blend well with the main endzone color, so I went with the white wordmark. EXTRA FIELDS And here is an assortment of extra fields that I assembled, a field with cyan endzones and Super Bowl fields with the NFL's Blues playing in the AFC.

' I think I have a few suggestions that I've mentioned before, but haven't been done yet Boston Red Sox (Braves) - The Boston Braves once called themselves the "Red Stockings" long before the AL's Boston Red Sox came into fruition Buffalo Senators (II) - The second incarnation of the Washington Senators originally considered a move to Buffalo, New York before they settled on Arlington, TX instead Grand Rapids Rippers (Guardians/Indians) - The Cleveland Guardians got their start in the Western League as the Grand Rapids Rippers Milwaukee Brewers (Cardinals) - An extension of MJD's previous Milwaukee Cardinals set, where the Cardinals move to Milwaukee and become the new Milwaukee Brewers Montreal Expos (Rays) - The Tampa Bay Rays once considered a timeshare for home games between Tampa Bay and Montreal which didn't go through, but if the Rays had partially moved to Montreal, maybe they would've eventually stayed and became the second incarnation of the Montreal Expos. Sioux City Cornhuskers (White Sox) - The modern-day Chicago White Sox got their start in Sioux City, Iowa before becoming the St. Paul Saints and eventually the Chicago White Sox St. Louis Browns (Cardinals) - The Cardinals in the 19th century National League were originally known as the "Browns" before changing their name to the iconic Cardinals at the turn of the 20th century. Austin, Charlotte, Hartford, Indianapolis, Nashville, Portland, or San Antonio Rays - The uncertainty around the Rays current stadium situation has led to speculation that the Rays will move to potentially 1 of 7 open markets looking to land a baseball team, but there hasn't really been a frontrunner push by any of these cities to land the Rays as they figure out what to do with their stadium.
  16. Set in a universe where these Cowboys are forced to change their name thanks to Dallas Cowboys founder Clint Murchison Jr. winning a bidding war over the nickname "Cowboys" or in an effort to not cause brand confusion with the baseball team of the same name, the NFL's Kansas City Cowboys change their name to the Kansas City Marshals. BRANDING A lot of assets were reused from the initial Kansas City Cowboys concept, because they're basically the same team just with a name change. EXTRA WORDMARKS/INSIGNIAS While working on this slide, I noticed the extra wordmarks in my original Cowboys concept looked a bit too low-quality, so I fixed my error and updated the extra wordmarks/insignias slide for the Cowboys concept, and I did the same here. FIELD AND UNIFORMS EXTRA FIELDS I decided to assemble a bonus Super Bowl LVIII field featuring the renamed Marshals facing off against the modern-day Dallas Cowboys in a battle for the Old West.

Not really, just a mildly amusing joke, there have been murmurs about the Royals moving to Nashville if the new downtown stadium deal in Kansas City falls through, but that's about it. There's also been some rumblings about the Brewers potentially leaving if they don't get something done in Milwaukee.

Love that shoulder patch! Reminds me a lot of the Royals alternate logo in 2005, also very coincidental for the both of us to upload Kansas City Cowboys concepts with similar color schemes within 3 days of each other.
  20. Let's get this thread started with a refresh of the NFL's Kansas City Cowboys who were the city's first professional football team that played in the NFL from 1924 to 1926, although their inaugural season they were known as the Kansas City Blues, for a mascot I chose a fox wearing a cowboy hat and an orange/brown color scheme, the font used for the wordmarks, insignias, and jersey numbers was Barlock. BRANDING EXTRA WORDMARKS/INSIGNIAS Some of the concepts in this thread won't have a ton of extra wordmarks and such but others will FIELD AND UNIFORMS The home field has the Cowboys script logo with a white outline, because when I was designing this, I didn't think the endzone logos with just the brown wordmark meshed well, as for the uniforms it's a simple-(ish) 5 uniform set with home, away, all orange, all white, and all brown alternates. UPDATE: I just noticed that when I first posted this, I forgot to do shoulder numbers for the brown alternates my bad. EXTRA FIELDS Here are some of the extra fields I designed, with a custom Super Bowl endzone, assuming in this universe the Kansas City Cowboys became apart of the AFC as a result of the AFL-NFL merger in the 1970-71 NFL season.
  21. Hello, good folks at the SportsLogos.net forums! What I'm about to introduce is something I've been wanted to get off the ground for a while now, but here it is, I previously announced this several weeks in advance on my profile's status update, but this is the start of a multi-sport concept series called "Into the 816-Verse" this series will feature a mixture of breathing new life into Kansas City's forgotten sports teams and a little bit of alternate history. Over the course of this thread, I will be updating my profile banner with each finished concept until it eventually becomes a full collage of every logo in this concept thread plus all of my previous KC-related concepts. All of the primary marks in this series will be Fiverr commissions. Great! More early origins concepts, curious if we'll see the original Browns who became the Cardinals, the original Red Sox who become the Braves, and the Cowboys who became the first incarnation of the Senators

Idk, I just wanted to tell a joke, although I do believe the Mariners were under the threat of relocation back in the late 90s trying to get a stadium deal in Seattle approved, I do know that Tampa Bay was considered a destination for them, I don't know about any others
