  1. Yeah, honestly if anything I probably slightly prefer it to black over white... It just feels fitting for Atlanta, much like the all-navy works for Seattle.

    Thanks! Sure thing:
  3. Hot take incoming: the Falcons uniforms continue to grow on me. I really think if they just didn’t include white socks in their rotation (and go with red socks whenever they go white jersey/black pants), they wouldn’t have any bad combos. I didn’t even mind the gradient jersey once I saw it in action, I’m kind of sad they don’t have any sort of red jersey option at the moment. Tweak the number font a bit, and go with “Atlanta” and/or “Falcons” on the main home & road jerseys, and they’d have a pretty much perfect set.

What if... the Mets relocated to New Jersey? Per @coco1997 & @DCarp1231: In 1971, with speculation that the Yankees might share Shea with the Mets, Mets chairman M. Donald Grant responded that he’d recommend moving the team to Jersey if this happened. Instead of NYC flag colors, I went with NJ flag colors.

Yeah, honestly I think even if the Yankees did move to New Jersey they'd still go by "New York" (much like the Giants and Jets do), but this was a fun experiment that feels completely wrong in every way.

What if... the Yankees relocated to New Jersey? Per @coco1997: In 1987, Mr. Steinbrenner met with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority to discuss moving the Yankees to a new complex in the Meadowlands. I added some gold to the Yankees inspired by @raysox' New Jersey design.

Thanks! Yeah, the "x" was a bit tough to make, but I wanted it to retain the "roundedness" of most of the other letters.

What if… the Rays relocated to Montreal (and changed their name)? It was largely publicized that the Rays at least considered splitting home games between Montreal & Tampa. I combined the Rays’ fauxback aesthetic with the Expos brand.

I’ve tried to only change names if it was absolutely necessary, and even then tried to use a name that had precedence. Most of these seem to fit only one if not neither of those criteria. Thanks!

What if… the (second) Senators relocated to Buffalo (and changed their name)? Per @maxwasson: MLB told representatives in Buffalo that they would get the Senators franchise if their dome could be built, but it fell through & the team moved to Texas.

Since "Mets" is short for "Metropolitans," it didn't really make as much sense in Montreal as it did in New York, since Montreal is not even the biggest city in Canada. I suppose any city team could be named the Metropolitans, but it just didn't feel right in this case. If Montreal gets a team back, I think they'd be named the Expos in (nearly) every universe. I've attempted it, but I didn't really get anywhere beyond "regular Expos with fauxback Rays font," and it didn't feel different enough to be worth posting. I'll try again & see if there's something unique I can do.

What if... the Mets relocated to Montreal (and changed their name)? This one is a bit too conspiratorial for my tastes, but: Per @coco1997 & @DCarp1231: In 2014, an article alleged that the Wilpons were conspiring to move the team to Montreal so they could use Citi Field's land for mixed-use development.

To be honest, I didn't intend on teal being the secondary color, as I originally wanted to balance each of the 3 "Fiesta" colors equally, but I just couldn't nail a design where that worked out. Here's a look at your suggestion, although it uses a bit too much teal for my tastes for this set: I do agree with your sentiment about having too many RWB teams in professional & collegiate sports, but I think the reason why makes sense: having your own unique color scheme is quite the risk, as not everyone is going to like it, and strong backlash is a lot more likely. The safe, conservative pick would be to go with the colors of the American flag, and stick with what works. Now, hopefully recent risks that have paid off immensely such as the Miami Heat's "Vice" campaign and (seemingly) the Padres' return to brown would encourage more teams to forge their own unique identities if they have the opportunity. Yep! I almost included the side panels in the original version, but decided against it. I'm glad I brought it in this time around, as the black jersey needed more of a splash of color than it had before. If they had a dome, that would be less of a concern. Regardless, the black alt probably works better as mostly a road alt, anyway.

Sure: I actually like how the teal interacts with the gray, but this wouldn't be bad, either.

Here's an update to the San Antonio Missions (former Marlins): This is much closer to what I was originally envisioning, as I finally found a font that's really close to the Minor League Missions' former font.

Yeah, red & blue was never gonna happen for Orlando. Plus, the font looks incredibly close to the Rockies' font, which has been a bit dated for at least a decade.

Personally, I think the whtie pinstripes come out a bit strong: I do really like the Magic's pinstripes on color jerseys though, I think that was a definite inspiration, if even subconsciously. Maybe some subliminal pins could work?

What if... the Rays relocate to Orlando (and change their name)? This is the same premise as my original Rays → Orlando design, but if they changed their name to the group campaigning to get a team there, the "Dreamers." I based the color scheme off of the stadium renderings.

That's true, but if you look at the 'Stros current, real-life identity, the star honestly plays a somewhat minor role in their brand, as it's always behind the "H," and not really used prominently anywhere anymore beyond the cap. It's also worth noting that the Phillies, Nationals, & Rangers all incorporate star imagery to a degree. True!
  20. I’m a bit late, but FSU’s updated uniforms look sooo nice. It’s amazing how much that small tweak really makes it feel like a return to the classic set with the collar and sleeve trim. The one downside is that they skipped over the Vapor Untouchable template and never used it, as the “V” shape of this new Vapor Fusion template is kind of distracting. It also makes the front numbers look a little small. I also hold the unpopular opinion of liking the “blackout” set, I wish they kept that around, I definitely like it more than the white helmet that they retained.

With neither of the LA teams likely to ever take the “Stars” name, I’d say it fits as well in Nashville as anywhere else. Plus, although it’s not the Grays, having a Negro League team name finally make its way into MLB would be pretty cool. Someone on Twitter pointed out the resemblance to the 2004 All-Star Game jerseys, which I hadn’t noticed but it works well.

What if... the Rays relocate to Nashville (and change their name)? A Tampa City Council member said that Rays president Brian Auld told him that relocating to Nashville might be a possibility. It seems the team would be the "Stars," which keeps 3/4 letters of the old name.

Much like the KC Royals are essentially just royal blue & white, I wanted to focus more-so on purple for the Montreal version, but having more of a co-balance with gold could work, too:

What if... the Browns relocated to Montreal (and changed their name)? This is the same premise as my original Browns → Montreal design, but if they decided to beat Kansas City to the punch with "Royals." I went with purple because of its association with the British crown.
