  1. That looks like an old Sacramento Kings court. I'll have to do a little research, but does anyone have a full picture of the court?
  2. I think it could work. But, it's all about timing and location. It'd have to be either preseason or around November and in places like Phoenix, Miami or low-precipitation locations.
  3. We have the Players in the "Wrong" Uniforms thread and within that thread I've seen a few "Right Team, Wrong Uniform" entries. I thought I'd separate the two, because it is an interesting topic of its' own. Here are a few to start the thread off with ... Charles Barkley, Preseason 1992, Phoenix Suns Matt Hasselbeck, 2001, Seattle Seahawks Jeff Bagwell, 1992, Houston Astros.
  4. Arthur Ashe Stadium would be a fun place too since it has a retractable roof.
  5. I do wonder why they played in the Kingdome? But, it looks like they played against the Bulls in late November in both 1991 and 1992 in the Kingdome. I'm assuming this might be to accommodate the bigger crowd with the Bulls' popularity?
  6. Yeah, I've looked for those games as well. Including a few they played in the Tacoma Dome around that season.
  7. I've found it interesting how many different -- slightly, but different -- jerseys the Bulls had before settling in the modern set that's remained the same (more or less) since 1985. As you can tell there are many inconsistencies with spacing, number placement and material wise as well. I'm not even sure if I can create a solid timeline because some differences were midseason.
  8. Yeah, I'm not sure why they played in the Metrodome in '96? Seems rather odd to roll out a whole court and stands for a pre-season game. On a side note ... I think the NBA should and could do a special game in the same spirit of the NHL Stadium Series in markets with domed stadiums. You could do it on Christmas or after football season in February or March?
  9. Thanks for that run down and research. The gold with white outline don't look much better.
  10. Is there a reasoning of the mid-season change? Are there any other examples of such a change? I want to say there was back some 10-15 years ago? Was it the Wizards? I'll have to dig.
  11. Here's a rarity since Reeves never played for the MEMPHIS Grizzlies in the regular season. He played two preseason games in Memphis before being put on the IR and eventually retiring.
  12. I know the San Francisco Warriors played in a number of Bay Area and other neutral courts before moving into the Oakland Coliseum full-time. But, this is somewhat of a rare sight seeing the original 'THE CITY' jerseys in the Oakland Coliseum.
  13. Interesting find ... Noticed the blue in the middle of the O's and D in Orlando (bottom photo), it seems like this was only done in the 1990-91 season. I am assuming this might be because of the switch to Champion that the NBA made that year (when you put into account the slight differences to Boston and Utah's jerseys for the first couple of months). The photo on the right is from the Sacramento Kings game on April 11th (according to the caption) so that'd kind of debunk it happening earlier in the season. But, everything else that I've seen the norm for these Magic jerseys is the first picture -- without the blue.
  14. Actually it's Saskatchewan Place in Saskatoon.
  15. It's really odd to see the Bad Boy-era jerseys next to the Grizzlies. So odd.
  16. Perfect. Thank you. That was what I was getting from what I researched. I wonder why they did the mismatch?
  17. London Games in 1993. They played the Magic during the preseason.
  18. 1) I love those pinstripe Bulls jerseys. Classy. 2) I never hated those red Sonics jerseys, but I am glad they went back to the Green and Gold. 3) I absolutely hated those Pistons red jerseys. Of that set -- I love the teal. It was probably the best they ever looked.
  19. Also, team pictures are a dying art. I found these few and I have to say ... I like! Especially the Sonics street car picture.
  20. I never realized this ... about the Sonics. Back in the late '70s the Washington Bullets and Seattle Sonics met in back-to-back Finals. The Bullets won in 1978 and the Sonics in 1979. What I never noticed was the Sonics' uniforms between the two Finals. I knew the Sonics' jerseys in 1978 were the Bill Russell Celtic-inspired jerseys, but those were apparently just for the road! They wore the familiar arched "Sonics" jerseys at home. Here is a shot from Game 6 in 1978. And, here is a picture of Game 7 in 1978. The following year the Sonics added a matching road jersey. As evidenced by the this picture from the 1979 Finals ... This really kind of blew my mind, because I just always assumed that the Sonics wore the same template jersey for both home and road. I know the Sonics wore similar home jerseys to the 1978 road jerseys as seen here (at least the year before -- with NY Nets jersey) ... Does anyone have any information on that timeline? I'm going to dig a bit deeper, but I thought I'd put this out there to see if there is anything someone else knows more readily.
  21. As much as I would love a return to the Stars to Utah or Jazz to NOLA ... you're right. It doesn't make "SENSE" but it "FEELS" right to have the Utah Jazz. The history of the two Finals run on top of the Stockton and Malone era (which was over 18 years) kinda cemented that. But, if we had to right some wrongs at least we got the Hornets back in Charlotte and Rams back in LA.
  22. Well, if Facebook had "Bring Back The Buzz" and "Bring Back The LA Rams" ... we should just get a "Bring Back the Jazz" movement for New Orleans. As much as Pelicans "fits" New Orleans, it's a clunky nickname. Sure the colors are the state flag, etc., etc., etc. But, they're dull. Mardi Gras colors work so much better. A better nickname would work better. Especially, Jazz.
