  1. I’d tend to agree. This solution seems much worse than whatever the problem was supposed to be.
  2. That’s an inspired idea. Maybe needs a little more of his chest, but that would elevate this logo out of this league and into Big Four territory.
  3. Doesn't have to be a direct copy to be a copy. Or to run afoul of trademark laws. Even “inspired by” is problematic, since the issue is whether there is a risk of confusion. Hard to ignore that there isn’t with these two.
  4. UA had to drop out of the MLB contract because they’re struggling and couldn’t handle the volume. Do we think they minor league football is small enough that UA could actually follow through?
  5. I think they adopted a zero-tolerance policy because in actual practice it wasn’t “let me photoshop the uniform without the stripe”, it was “let me show you my total uniform overhaul”. And then the whole thread becomes about the relative merits of the concept. It’s possible that tiny tweaks would pass muster. But a redesign of the logo? That probably does deserve its own thread.
  6. Open an account on imgur or another free image hosting site. Post it there, copy the URL, and hit the bright blue “Insert other media” button below. Posting concepts to a news thread is generally frowned upon, though - there’s a whole “Concepts” board where you can do that.
  7. Hey, whadd’ya know? Twitter got something right.
  8. Is laziness just part of the character that was scripted for him?
  9. It’s this contest’s Flaggy McFlagface. Every internet poll has to have one. Shame on the Stranger for shortlisting it.
  10. Seems kinda silly to do something like this on the way out of town.
  11. I'm not sure that only drawing crowds of 1000 fans qualifies as doing anything right.
  12. As i said - all the sketchy fly-by-night suburban teams. That only shows they had one in the office. Doesn’t mean they actually had any inventory for sale.
  13. The same Peter Schwartz who announces Cosmos games? Does he work for every shaky, fly-by-night suburban New York team?
  14. Wait, is there still a possibility they could come back? That article is the story of how a team folds. If the AFL allows them to come back, with McIntyre as owner, then the whole league is an illegitimate scam.
  15. I like the dusty blue, but the buff looks a little dark on my screen. I think one of the colors needs to be brighter for contrast, and that’s the one I’d lighten.
  16. Yeah, that was the first thing that jumped out to me as well. What’s the rationale behind the lightning bolt anyway?
  17. Worth pointing out that's not the official city flag. It's an unofficial one, albeit very popular. You can find it everywhere around Milwaukee. It's even in the suburbs.
  18. I dunno - there are a lot of Americans who manage to thump their chests proclaiming their patriotism while at the same time lionizing armed insurrection against the United States and the killing of American soldiers. Go figure. Which would be totally on-brand for both McMahon and the whole ‘Murica! industry.
  19. The relocation fees for the Rams and Chargers were each $645 million.
  20. Indeed. Nobody’s been more critical about the miserable Tampa Bay attendance than Rays players themselves. Going back years.
  21. Who on earth would want to sign something that stupid? Bad enough the team felt compelled to respond. That GJ logo, though. So much better than the parent club’s.
  22. They started out as a minor league, then leveraged their strength into eventually competing on the NFL’s level. But yeah, the 1960 AFL was definitely a minor league.
