I'm having a hard time understanding the new "rules" or lackthereof.

If the new helmets for this season have to be pre-existing in the style guide (like the patriots white, falcons black, etc) how are the Eagles getting a black helmet to use for one season only & Washington gets an alternate for their alternate.

The rules will be relaxed within 3 years and completely gone soon after so don't worry about it too much

People talk about this "Canadian Cup drought" as if every Canadian player plays for one of the 7 teams. It's a completely arbitrary group of teams who just happen to all have home arenas north of the border.

Every single Stanley Cup winner has had several Canadians on their roster. The so-called "drought" is just a media fabrication.

It's pretty noteworthy that fans from the country that invented hockey have not been able to celebrate their team winning a Cup in 30 years.

Oh no. This would have to be the worst looking Stanley Cup Final ever, right? It's ten times worse than the last time they faced off.

The only one I can think of that would be comparable is Ducks-Sens. The only salvageable uni in that one was Ottawa's aways. Canes and Oilers both have good away uniforms

The biggest thing that the new rule stated is that, in order to get credit for a no-hitter, the pitcher has to pitch nine innings, and his team has to win the game.

You don't have to win the game. Ken Johnson in 1964  and the Orioles' combined no-no in 1967 are both officially no-hitters despite those pitchers losing.

Ernie Shore relieved Ruth. The hitter who had walked was caught stealing, and then Shore retired the next 26 men. This remains a combined perfect game and a combined no-hitter

It's just a combined no-hitter, since a batter reached based.

(Left unanswered is the question of how the rules would handle a no-hitter or a perfect game in a scheduled seven-inning game, as opposed to a rain-shortened seven-inning game.)

Bumgarner gave up no hits in a 7-inning clowngame last year and it isn't counted as an official no-hitter
