The correct answer from these parts would be Canada winning its first World Cup match.

Or not chocking in a game that would see them advance to the hex. I can't take another one.

GTA United(USA) 2015 + 2016 USA Champions/Toronto Maroons (ULL)2014, 2015 + 2022 Gait Cup Champions/Toronto Northmen (TNFF)

They're due as hell, sure, but still.  1967 is not 1940-something.

In hockey it kind of is. 5/6 of the league didn't even exist the last time the Leafs won. There's been so much more radical change in the NHL over the past 50 years than there has been in the last 70 years of Major League Baseball. The only major changes in baseball that I can think of are the DH and the creation of divisions/expanded playoffs.

How about either of San Diego's teams winning. They've both been waiting close to, and over half a century, and the Padres in particular have endured far more bad years than good. This town still talks about the failures in the 1984 World Series,  1998 World Series and Super Bowl XXIX like they were some magical achievements. Having to fondly remember failure is just sad.

Only one team in San Diego has a chance of winning a title, since the other won't be in San Diego come 2017.
