San Francisco 49ers (18 of 32)

Taking it out West with the next team - the Niners. The Niners have some of the cleanest unis in the game. They also have one of my favorite throwbacks in the game. Might have gone a little overboard here, but I had fun with it. There are a plethora of helmet options. The primary is the gold lid with the revived red facemask. Also have a few different colorways of the same style. There's a silver throwback back to the 60s. And lastly, there's a city edition which we'll talk about more with the uni set. Major changes - not many except the DROP SHADOW IS BACK! Like I said above, I love the cleanliness of the current set they wear, but I'm a sucker for the drop shadow. That's our new primary here. I've also brightened the shade of red to make it pop more. Red home, white away, blackout alt, Gold Rush alt, red/silver throwback and lastly the International Orange city edition. This set pays homage to San Fran and mainly the Golden Gate bridge. Took a little risk on the color pallet, but after searching some images of SF, this is what I settled on. The International Orange (bridge color) is the primary. I love what the Giants did with their city unis, so I chose a gray for the numbers which represents the fogginess of the city sometimes. Sublimated bridge supports on the sleeves. Recolored retro logo on the pants. Pants are more of an earthy tone which I liked better than the gray or just plain white. I also was going to switch up the number font, but really liked the drop shadow for this set too (shocker). Anyway - here's the set. Hope you enjoy. Always looking for C&C and feedback!

A lot of people don't want black for SF but I disagree. Well done. Love the city edition too.

I know the majority probably like SF without the black, but I'm in the same boat where I think it works well. Also was waiting for someone to come in with a Buckeye comment. Felt very Buckeye-ish when replicating the throwback. Appreciate the kind words!

People saying that doesn't surprise me at all, but I also would fall into the camp that thinks it's a good look for them. Plus, isn't the point of alternate uniforms partially so that a team can do something outside of the box with their look once in a while without making a fulltime commitment to a change? It's the perfect opportunity for a tradition-heavy team to experiment a little. These are well done, you were able to add to the designs without taking away from the timeless nature of their current uniforms.

Thank you both! In a lot of my designs - I really enjoy combining elements of the past to create a unique look. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes need to go in a different direction, but I feel it works well here for SF

New York Giants (19 of 32)

Coming back out East with the Giants. This is another team that pulls off simplicity well. I actually pulled together two different overall sets as I couldn't decide which direction I wanted to go during the design process. There are certain elements that I did want intact though. First goal was consistency - something the current Giants sets lack. I am also set on having the "Giants" wordmark on the helmet as opposed to the NY and keeping the facemask white. I love the white pants. I dabbled with other pant colors, but am sticking with white. Now for the sets. While I'm an Eagles fan - I have to say I love the cleanliness of their current all white throwbacks. I started building a set around that. Lighter shade of blue with simple sleeve striping. However, I think the NW striping also works well for the Giants. The second set incorporates that and also has a number font change with no outline. This set also darkens the shade of blue used. Would love feedback on what others like better. Lastly, I have a semi-fauxback that incorporates the gray, brings back the NY on the helmet and keeps the NW striping. Thanks again for checking out these sets and interested to hear some feedback.

  • Philly's Phinest changed the title to 2022 NFL Redesign -- Denver Broncos (20 of 32) -- Added 04/13/2022

Denver Broncos (20 of 32)

We're back at it after a few days with the Denver Broncos. While I'm an Eagles fan at heart, growing up, I always enjoyed watching the Broncos and the likes of Elway, Davis, Sharpe, and McCaffrey. There's a lot to unpack here as I went a little overboard - but I definitely had fun with this one. I created a modern set and more of a retro set. I know a lot of folks would like the Broncos to go back to the days of old, so I'm here to hear all of your opinions on which you like best and why. For both, I chose the dark blue color scheme. Just a personal preference. Blue home, white away and orange alt. I also have created a wild and obscure take on a brown/yellow alt. By no means is this a throwback because I've changed a lot, but I wanted it to be so outside the box that it's actually cool. Lastly, I have a city / state edition paying homage to Denver and the Rocky Mountain state of Colorado. As always, I hope you enjoy and really looking forward to feedback on all of these.

These are some really great well thought out concepts. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for the Eagles. Perhaps a return of the white helmet with green wing?

Thanks a lot! Big plans for the Eagles. Will definitely see a white helmet option

  • Philly's Phinest changed the title to 2022 NFL Redesign -- Pittsburgh Steelers (21 of 32) -- Added 04/15/2022

Pittsburgh Steelers (21 of 32)

Another team with a no-frills, timeless look. Nothing groundbreaking for Pittsburgh, but just a few changes to spice things up a bit. Multiple helmet options including - black, yellow, steel and white with the black being the primary. Uni options - black home, white away, steel alternate and a reverse retro as the fauxback. As for the changes - while the Steelers have a unique number font, I'm bringing them back to a classic block. I personally prefer this for Pittsburgh. Removed the numbers from the helmet to clean things up a bit. Sleeve striping stays the same. I've also removed the patch from the jersey (cleaner look imo). 2 pant options - yellow and white. Added stars to the pant striping. Purists may not like it, but I think it works with the set to spice things up a bit. Lastly the fauxback takes a note from the NHL with a bit of a reverse retro look. Instead of the black jersey with the yellow shoulder caps, I've inverted the look where yellow is the jersey color and black is on the shoulders. This is a nod to their set from back in the 60s. Grill on this helmet also gets changed back to a gray. Let me know what you think!

  • Philly's Phinest changed the title to 2022 NFL Redesign -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (22 of 32) -- Added 04/21/2022

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (22 of 32)

Next up is Tampa. The Bucs have one of my favorite uniform sets in all of the NFL. Their recent switch back to the classic look is near perfection. However, there are some small changes I made and have added some fun alternates. Let's dive in. Helmets - bunch of options with the classic pewter as the primary. Uniforms - Home red, white away, black alt, 2 pewter alts with focus on red for one and orange on the other and lastly a creamsicle fauxback because it is a must. For the changes - not many to the primary home, away and black alt. The major change is I've scalloped the normal block font similar to what the Pittsburgh Pirates do. Secondly, I've changed the whole collar to a solid color. I've never been a fan of the thin color on the collars or even a few years back when the NFL did the "horseshoe" style collars. Also chose a black alternate out of personal preference and made the pewter alts a little more funky and modern. The black alt also comes with a black helmet. In the past, the Bucs did have a black option available for retail (I had one), but I don't believe they ever wore them on field if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong so please fact check me on that. 2 pewter alts - one focusing on red and one focusing on orange. The red was where I started. Was originally a red jersey to match the red lid, but I really liked where the design went with the pewter. Really played on the sword theme. Sleeve striping is more modern and has the Bucs script written on each sleeve. Number font has been switched up to something "sharper". Sword stripe on the pants. I played around with other pant colors here and the sword pops more on red pants, but didn't look good with the pewter top. I'm more of a classic striping guy myself, but as I said - got a little funky and modern with this one. And then we have the same design, but orange takes the primary instead of the red. Not the biggest fan of that one, but still wanted to share. Lastly, creamsicle fauxback because it is a must. I've removed the helmet striping for a cleaner look and have separated the sleeve striping to leave an orange gap in between the red and white. I've kept the scalloped numbers and think it works well here. Changed the Buccaneers chest plate to a script font for a more classic feel. Instead of going white pants, I went orange on orange baby. Normally I'm not a fan of same color tops and bottoms (color rush), but I think it can be pulled off here.

  • Philly's Phinest changed the title to 2022 NFL Redesign -- Chicago Bears (23 of 32) -- Added 04/25/2022

Chicago Bears (23 of 32)

Up next is Chicago. The Bears are probably as classic as they come when it comes to their branding. As I've been doing with most of my designs, I wanted to try and modernize a classic - but not go overboard. I always enjoy concepts on classic teams (like the Bears or Packers), where people take a little risk and don't just keep the same fonts or stripes, etc. For this set, we have 4 uni options - Blue home, white away, orange alt, and a double blue city edition. Similar to what I did with the Bucs, I took a basic block font and started playing around with cropping / adding edges to the numbers for a unique look. As for the striping - I wanted something similar to their retro unis, but toned down the number of stripes overall and isolated them to just 3 on each shoulder and 3 on the pants. GSH has been removed from the jersey, but is now visible on the helmet bumper. Pant options are only white or blue. Socks are either blue or orange and can be interchangeable throughout the look. Lastly, I did create a city edition which I like to call the "Windy City Alt". Similar to other designs I've made, I played on the Chicago flag. I've opted for a double blue and kept the red stars across the look. Chest crest reads "Windy City" and the inside of the collar reads "Bear Down". As always, C&C is appreciated and I hope you all enjoy the NEW Chicago Bears!

Great job on the Bears!

What would the set look like with the 1936 helmets they’ve used the past few seasons?

Thanks so much! Funny you ask because this is actually how I started the design. The first shown below is the very first design with all orange stripes and blank pants. Over time, it evolved into the set you saw above. The second below is simply the current home with the retro helmet swap. I actually tried putting the numbers on those helmets as well, but felt it got very busy. Overall - I do like the striped helmet, but felt the design lacked having the Chicago "C" or something more than just the Bears wordmark on the jersey to signify The Chicago Bears.

  • Philly's Phinest changed the title to 2022 NFL Redesign -- Dallas Cowboys (24 of 32) -- Added 04/26/2022

Dallas Cowboys (24 of 32)

While the Cowboys are probably my least favorite team in the NFL, I can say they have a very strong brand that they've built over the years. I had a few main goals here - 1) stay true to the identity and history 2) unify the look. Let's start with the helmets. 3 simple options. Silver, white and a blue. Silver being the primary. You'll notice the blue does not have any stripes and this was by design. I think the helmet looks cleaner this way and could pair well with the dark jersey. For the unis - since the Cowboys don't have a true home / away (usually wear white) - we have a light jersey (white), dark jersey (blue) and an alternate silver. These primary jerseys feature the classic double sleeve stripe (removed the outline). A retro number font was also used to pay homage to earlier Cowboy years.  Similar to what some teams are now doing - I've removed the TV numbers from the shoulders and have replaced them with the star logo. Always thought that look suited them well. You'll also notice I've only used the darker shade of blue throughout and have made the pants a solid silver color (not the blue/silver that doesn't match their helmets). I also created an all white fauxback of sorts where I utilize the white helmet. This features the iconic double outline numbers and has blue sleeves. I've also paired this with white pants. Not a true throwback as I've changed the design, but borrowed elements from the past. Lastly - for the purists out there that love the lighter shade of blue, there is another alternate option of their normal light jersey that could be worn (yes I know I even switched the helmet blue to be a lighter shade). Should be about it for the Cowboys - so hopefully you all enjoy and as always, would love to hear the feedback!
