As good as that team was this year in the World Cup, they won't make it anywhere unless he actually put in the work that he didn't with Spain. I feel sorry for them. Berhalter is finally playing Gio centrally behind Balo and flanked by Pulisic and Weah which I feel like we’ve been begging to see for a while and it’s exactly as good as we thought it’d be. It began with the first half of the Germany game, and it’s continued through the first half of this game, but it’s clear as day that the US needs to start Gio as the 10 every single game. Credit to Berhalter for actually trying it out and sticking with it. The US has looked better in these two games (the first halves primarily) while playing the 4-2-3-1 than they have at any other point with Berhalter as the coach.
