Perhaps this is something new... the champs get to wear the logo until someone takes it from them. Hadn't heard about this yet...

That's way it's done in Serie 'A' in Italy. The defending champion wears a special shield in Italy's colours. In this case it's AC Milan that wears it. Nice touch I say.

I really hope this is a season-long thing, but I'm guessing it was just done to coincide with the banner-raising and ring-handing-outing. If the champs got to wear a patch all year long? Sounds corny, but I think it has all sorts of possibilities.

I like the idea, too. Heck, lately in hockey and baseball the team hosting the All-Star Game has worn a patch all season long. Why not wear a patch showing a realy accomplishment, like winning the championship.

Though I think the '06 Giants went a little too bold.
