CaolinaJoe
So much for no debt. "It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of thepress. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom ofspeech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given usthe freedom to demonstrate. And it is the soldier who salutes theflag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, andwho allows the protester to burn the flag."Marine Chaplain Dennis Edward O' Brien

dwertman
Ah.....the death sentence of my beloved Red Devils.I guess Magnier and McManus werent the "long term" investors they said they were. From what ive heard it has been Glazers sons driving this home more then him,in spite of the absolute hatred Man U fans have shown for them.I heard the debt load they will place on the club is like 300 million pounds. Well what the man did for Tampa Bay not withstanding, the majority of Man U fans, myself included are unhappy about ithere is a quote:'If that means starving ourselves, and starving the club of income, in order to make this parasite detach himself from us, then so be it,' Houston told SkySports News.Dont get me wrong I will support my club till the end, unlike some people who will prolly burn all there nike stuff ,but i dont like this guy and his debt ridden takeover. Now my opinion may change in a year lol but for now I gotta stick to my guns Kings Cross AFC -BIP, Winnipeg Falcons - TNFF, St. Louis Archers - MLF

Glazer is a dork and ill admit that but i bet the team will be pretty well off. It may be slow at first but it will be OK. I dont know much about the MAn United football club, but if history goes to show anything Glazer bought the Bucs for something like $75 Million and now they are worth around 800 to 900 million dollars (If what i heard was correct, This came from a Ray Jay security guard). Im not sure how thats going to be for fans but my guess would be that ticket prices may rise at first but eventually will go down to even better than they are now. But DAMN!!!! $1.47 billion for a sports team? And i thought Dan Snyder paid alot for the Redskins!!!! But DAMN!!!! $1.47 billion for a sports team? And i thought Dan Snyder paid alot for the Redskins!!!! $1.47 billion sounds right when you buy, arguably, the most popular team in the most popular sport in the WORLD. Plus when you factor in that Man U. owes no money to anybody, not bad. He's been trying for over a year to buy the team. The big issue is that fact that all the money he is using is borrowed money. Thats the biggest issue most people who are against the man have.http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=333277&cc=5901We will just have to see what happens now i guess I wonder though if they will end up having to offload the Bucs to help pay for this? MJWalker45
Actually, in the long run, the fact that he entered into this with debt as part of tthe package will be forgotten. If he succeds in getting ManUTV into the States and Asia, he'll make up a good chunk right there. I've talked with a footy fan who looked at in a business point of view. His opinion is that the folks who are complaining are the shareholders with the most capital in hand. They are comfortable with the amount they have and are afraid he'll devalue the team and lessen the share value. But by Glazer building the ManU brand in the States, through academies, TV, and tours, those shares will definitely increase in the long run. Plus, if United snag young U.S. talent in the academies, they may consider having those kids train at Carrow Road and play in MLS, giving them valuable training and all important time on the field rather than on the bench in the Reserve League or Premiership.
