TBGKon
I figured I'd create a thread to name my minor league affiliates for the Tampa Bay Sandtigers Minor League Baseball Club in the American Association (a fantasy baseball league hosted here on the CCSLC). The cities are as follows:AAA - Orlando, FLAA - Wilmington, NC (team will use the location of Cape Fear)A(Adv) - Clearwater, FLA - Mt. Clemens, MI (team will use the location of Motor City)Short A - City and Nickname up for considerationRookie - Tallahassee, FLI will post my ideas for the teams, and will add them to the list of names that are submitted. Once enough names are submitted for a team, I will post a poll. Thanks all!Edit: You may come up with a city in the NY-Penn League region for this team. The NY-Penn League has teams in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Vermont, Maryland, Massachusetts (basically anywhere Pennsylvania and north)
TBGKon
AA: Cape Fear DestroyersA (Adv): Clearwater Canes (as in a shortened name for Hurricanes)A: Motor City MachineRookie: Tallahassee Sandtigers (all Gulf Coast League teams are named for the parent club)
BB61
Camden, eh? If I didn't like you, I'd get pissed off (for putting a team right next to my market). But now I'm just amused. Orlando SunHawksCape Fear ClippersMotor City MustangsCamden Express (for the PATCO trains -- and it's okay to just classify the team as Camden.) TBGKon
Well, Camden can be changed to another city in the NY-Penn League area. I was contemplating Atlantic City, but any other city is possible.
DDR
since many of your teams are based in FL, for short A I say tampa bay and for the nickname you can adopt the apparently lame duck part of the D'Rays name: The Tampa Bay Devils. and the logo could be a block T with horns and the stem can be a tail. I'll draw it up for ya sometime

HatCityEnforcer
Hmmm...let's see if I can help out a fellow AA GM here Mt. Clemens eh? Nice to see you've got a team in the Spirit's neighborhood ....Motor City Mechanics wouldn't work seeing the UHL hockey team in Fraser uses the same name...Anyways, I'll take a stab here...Orlando Knights (seeing it IS home to the Magic Kingdom and all)Cape Fear PrivateersMotor City GearsClearwater CrusadersTallahassee Explorers (in honor of Ponce De Leon, namesake of Leon County, IIRC)Now for you NY-Penn League team...here's some ideas.--Cooperstown (NY) Nine (Perfect fit...it's the "birthplace of baseball")--Hudson Valley (Poughkeepsie/Beacon, NY) Rivermen (Poughkeepsie sits right on the Hudson River...there is an actual ballpark in Beacon, which is about 15-20 mi. south of Poughkeepsie and is actually the home of the Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa's NY-Penn team).)--Adirondack (Glens Falls, NY) Mountaineers (Fits, seeing the Adirondacks are basically just an extension of the Appalachians)--Capital District (Albany/Schenectady/Troy, NY) Patroons (basically, in honor of the Dutch settlers of New York)--Stamford (CT) Schooners (seeing it is on Long Island Sound and all)--Newport (RI) Navigators (another maritime-flavored name for a pretty famous seaport)--New Bedford (MA) Flotilla (in honor of Battleship Cove)
