Saint Zephyr III
A strong indication that the NBA and Stern are at least cooperative and willing in the redevelopment of New Orleans, Stern has announced that the league is nearing negotiations with the city to host the 2008 All-Star Game.Frankly, this can only be a good thing. NJTank
What does thois do to Oklahoma City they have supported that team to good just to lose it. They deserve a franchise. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
CityOfWalrus
I really think we do deserve a franchise, we've shown that we can hold a major sports team in OKC.

SEMOSTLfan
its a tough call, im glad that stern has shown loyalty to revitalizing new orleans. But at the same time the fans of oklahoma city have shown that they deserved a shot at a franchise. The only question would be whether or not OKC would support a time after the newness has worn off and the hornets keep losing like they typically have in the past. LMU
Loyalty has nothing to do with it. All this New Orleans talk is just drumming up good PR. It's pretty much assured that the fanbase of the region as well as corporate sponsorship will plummet, so the only reason that there's talk of returning is just for the news it generates. I look at it this way-before the hurricane came through and cut the metro population in half the Hornets had no fans. How have the events of the last 6 months changed that?In OKC, the Hornets have fans aplenty-I don't think the team is leaving.Putting the All-Star Game in New Orleans is both the NBA "doing the right thing" and taking advantage to have a 2-3 day party in one of the biggest party cities in the country. The_Admiral
One All-Star Weekend will bring more business than 41 Hornets games, anyway. Fair concession. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
