clyon81
I was at my buddies house playing madden, and he opened up the lastest NFL Shop catalog, for November, and I also found it on NFL.com shop. Anyway, Ill add a link, it's a set of mini-throwback helmets, and I want to know what team is between the Panthers and the Raiders. It is apparently in alphabetical order by team Nickname. http://www.nflshop.com/catalog....ridID=0 Thanks Link to the helmets Play RBI Baseball 2K9 @ http://league.rbicentral.com
clyon81
I thought since they were throwbacks, id find a list of NFL nicknames, and since its between panthers and Raiders, it would have to be one of the following...Akron-OH?Pros (1920-25) Columbus-OH?PanhandlesDetroit?Panthers (1925-26)Hammond-IN?Pros (1920-26)I want to assume panthers, becasause it's right after panthers, it's blue, Panhandles would be out of order, and I cant see why they would choose Akron or Hammond. It also appears that all the throwbacks of teams shown are from existing teams, im really at a loss, help me out! Discrim
well, none of the teams you guessed survived long enough to wear a plastic helmet, and the only guess i have is there are two Patriots throwbacks. hey, wait, Patriots comes after Panthers...since when did t come before n? :: A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull
CubsFanBudMan
I highly doubt it's those teams from the '20s, since they didn't wear modern helmets... and as far as the link, the pic I see has the Bears and Bills surrounding the Panthers and the Raiders way down below, so... ???I've got a catalog at home, I'll see if I can find the picture you're talking about. clyon81
I honestly cant believe I was that ignorant and dumb to think about those old teams. Possibly a team from AFL?Anyway, Ill try to add the image to this post so you can see it. clyon81
of coarse it goes from left to right, not up and down, like I believe the current 32 team set goes.Row 1(top)Bears, Bengals, Bills, Broncos, Broncos, BrownsRow 2Bucs, Cardinals, Chargers, Chiefs, ???, CowboysRow 3Dolphins, Eagles, Falcons, 49ers, Giants, JaguarsRow 4Jets, Lions, Packers, Panthers, ???, RaidersThe rest are pretty easy to figure out, with the last 3 being NFL helmets, and the 75th anniversary helmet. Now I see that the helmet in row 4 SHOULD be the Patriots, but It doesnt seem to be that one. And now I cant identify the team in row 2. Play RBI Baseball 2K9 @ http://league.rbicentral.com

sc49erfan15
The blue helmet in Row 2 is the New York Titans helmet (from 1962?), and Row 4 IS that Patriots helmet with the colonial hat.

clyon81
Yes, I was looking all over the helmet project, but I got side-tracked right before I checked out the AFC East, and I dont know how I forgot the patriots. Any suggestion for why the titans helmet is where it is instead of in the jets position? Discrim
edit: scratch that, i thought it was original raiders but now i'm able to make out the colts' horseshoe...my mistake. (a history lesson for those who think the Raiders were always silver and black: they've always worn black, but originally the other color was gold. yep, gold. and the original jerseys were bears ripoffs, down to the font.)compare:60 Raiders59-60 Bears A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull

CubsFanBudMan
The picture I still see in this post and in the link still shows a different picture than what you must be talking about. It's got eight helmets across alphabetized by city name, not six helmets across alphabetized by team name. That's why I still have no idea what you're talking about. Am I seeing things?
