How about just watching a lot of college football and just see where that takes you. After awhile you'll just gravitate to a team for one reason or another. That's how I became a fan of Leeds when I was getting interested in the EPL.

Yeah, maybe I got stuck with a lemon. But so what? They're my team and they'll stay my team. That's what being a fan should be about. Not just jumping ship to a team that's going to be good.

People who grew up in The Bronx and became Yankee fans are lucky. People who grew up in Kansas City and chose the Yankees are tools. I'm a Cubs fan but would never think about becoming a fan of a more successful team. It wouldn't feel right cheering for another club when they win the World Series. But when the Cubs actually win it all, it will feel so good.

Part of the joy of being a fan is seeing your team win after suffering through the bad. Without that, the final reward is meaningless. Don't just pick a team. It's not what real fans do.

Stay with Miami, although I'm curious about how you became a fan of theirs.

Two words,Rocky Top

Two words: Always Lose.

Why don't you just do what I do, root for locals. I grew up rooting for Georgia AND GaTech. Root for Rutgers (if that's closest)

Someone obviously missed the Georga Tennessee game this year.

Why not become a Nevada Reno fan Tank? Up and coming football, great basketball, ect ect!!!! :D

Why? KC was the AA minor league affilate of the Yankees from 1936-1955, and is their other AAA affiliate today. ;)

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

I meant contemporaries of mine.

Regardless if they're contemporaries of you, there is a tradition of at least leaning toward the Yankees in the area, just like there has been historically a large number of San Francisco Giants fans in Shreveport, LA, as the Captains were the Giants AA affiliate for quite a while. The Giants are still No. 1 in the area despite the affiliation being long gone.

I suppose if KC got an NHL team, yet the large cadre of Sharks fans remain, they would be tools to you also?

I always thought SU was the de facto school of choice for the NY Metro area, but that might only be for basketball. It seems kind of lame for Tank to root for Miami sports at all (ugh...what's the attraction?) but now is as good as time as any to switch over to Rutgets. Their football team is dominant this year and they're basketball program is on an upswing over the past couple years. Plus, you get the added bonus of rooting for a perennial underachiever. It can be frustrating, but the good season for a bad team or so much more rewarding than the good seasons for a great team.

Heres a problem with Rutgers Football I dont like Rutgers Basketball that much (Im a Seton Hall Fan) The Hall dose not play Footbal though

That shouldn't really be much of an issue. In my family, we rooted for Wisconsin in football and Marquette in basketball, and they share a rivalry similar to what Rutgers and Seton Hall has. Of course, I grew out of my Marquette phase once I went to UWM, but that's neither here nor there.

That's a pretty effective way to go. Obviously I'm a Wolverine above all else, but just by watching lots of college football there are teams I'll root for almost all the time, just because I like their style. That list includes Boise St., Air Force, Texas Tech (dating back to the Zebbie Lethridge days, not just Mike Leach), Miami-Ohio (mostly because my 3rd cousin used to be President there), and Washington State.

So I echo the suggestion of sitting down and watching a season of football without a "team" and see where it takes you.

oh ,my god ,i strong recommend you to have a visit on the website ,or if i'm the president ,i would have an barceque with the anthor of the articel .
