Sounds like to time the Sonics had a rain delay due to a leaky roof in Key Arena. Anyone hear of a hockey game delay for 3 months?

Yeah, it happened last season when Jiri Fischer collapsed on the Red Wings bench. They stopped the game that night in November 2005 and finished it up at the end of January 2006.

By the way Tank, apparently the Zamboni cut through the ice exposing a piece of the plastic advertisement that was beneath it. One of the officials tried to pull it out and cut it off but actually made it worse. They tried to flood it and then freeze it with fire extinguishers but it didnt work.

Former strip mine equipment operator destroys ice in Prince George... film at 11...

About 10 years ago a CHL game ENDED after 2 periods when wind-blown rain got under the louvers at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio and started falling on center ice in buckets... since it was near the end of the season and both teams had to be in Wichita the next day to finish the home & home, they just called the game after 2 periods.

Wasn't there an ECHL game in progress in Vinton (Roanoke Valley) during the Blizzard of '93 that caused the roof to collapse?

Last year an AHL game between the Peoria Rivermen and the Iowa Stars was postponed before the start of the 3rd because the ice at Wells Fargo Arena melted. A power surge had knocked the cooling units offline.

The staff was too busy correcting problems from the surge at another building at the Iowa Events Center and didn't notice the ice wasn't being cooled until it was too late. The ice wouldn't stay frozen once the fans filled the arena and by the end of the second there was water covering the surface. The Zabonis came out and pulled the water up without laying down any liquid, but it kept melting.

They played the 3rd period before a Peoria game later in the year. The Stars lost twice in the same night. :(

well I live in Burns Lake which is about 2 and half hours drive west of PG and on Friday morning it started snowing and snowed all night Friday and most of Saturday and after it was all said and done there was 4 feet of snow at my house, only 1 foot away from the 24 hour snowfall record. they were saying on the radio(that's all we had because power was out everywhere) that roads were very icy and people were saying there was cars in the ditch everywhere between PG and Smithers(hometown on Preds D-man Dan Hamhuis, also a former PG Cougar).

Actually, they didn't really finish it up. They started over but credited Nashville with the goal they had scored (resulting in the very odd stat that Scottie Upshall earned an assist on a goal in a game he didn't play in for a team he wasn't playing for at the time, since he was in Milwaukee).

The CBA once had an all-star game that was called at halftime due to a power failure.

The solution? Count the first half, then play four more quarters the following night - the first-ever six quarter basketball game.

Was that because Isiah failed to pay the Electric Bill?

Back in 1993, NBC showed the Kings-Flyers game and the game was PPD midway through the 2nd period after the snowstorm was beggining to wreck the Spectrum and the game was not played until the last game of the season. Also in 93 and I was at this game, The Kings was about to play the Winnepeg Jets at the Forum and just 15 minutes before game time, the PA Annoucer annouce that due to the Flood warning, the game will not be played until three days later when the was played at 2pm due to the Lakers game later that night.
