otherwilds
DETROIT (AP) -- About 100 Detroit Lions fans held a protest during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/foot...s.ap/index.htmlThe fans left their seats midway through the quarter and gathered in Ford Field's atrium, where they chanted "Fire Millen" -- a reference to general manager Matt Millen -- while watching the game on the scoreboard. Many of the protesters headed for the exits at halftime, where they were greeted by stadium employees handing out "Go Lions" stickers.-----The protest marked the second-straight season that Lions fans have felt the need to organize their displeasure with the organization. Last season, about 500 fans marched outside the stadium before the final home game of the season, and many wore orange -- the color of the opposing Cincinnati Bengals.Well a new coach has yet to make a difference so Millen's days (at least as General Manager) should be over soon. Some scuttlebutt 'round here has Titans GM Floyd Reese going to Detroit if Bud Adams does not offer him a new deal in Nashville. logodawg
How about they just save themselves 60 bucks and not go to the game in the first place? Empty unpaid seats speaks volumes more. I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this?
otherwilds
But if they are season ticket holders who already paid for the seats and have been long time supporters of the franchise that does have some symbolism.Titans fans did the no-show thing last year and I thought that was stupid. They have technically sold out every game at the new stadium so it had no real effefct other than lower comncession sales and empty seats on tv. It just showed they were fair weather fans and I am sure they will be back on the bandwagon this next week for the New England game.

Discrim
heh, if my team was paying Mike Wiliams to drop everything thrown to him, I'd protest too thanks Mike...after the Lions kick you to the curb, you might have a job waiting for you in Green Bay next year (heh, he's the kind of guy Ted Thompson likes to sign: he can't catch worth ; see Robinson, Koren) A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull
CZzyzx41
I say if Millen isn't fired by the start of the year next year, these fans should just NOT renew their season tickets. Surely a few people will buy them up but the only thing that's really going to get the owner's attention is if they have trouble selling season tickets and people aren't buying up the now empty seats. Unpurchased tickets speak volumes more than leaving your seat and chanting.Just as the Millions of fans of various sports teams in the past that have done virtually the same thing with no success. The owner will do whatever he wants. Why? He's the owner. -DanielCheck Out My Podcast! Maybe someone like Joel_Fiasco can back me up on this, but ive heard that not only do Lions tickets outsell Red Wings, Pistons, and Tigers tickets, but there is accually a waiting list for season tickets. I could be wrong though. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
