Breakwood
Thanks for the responses. It just seems weird to me, having the Orange Bowl played in a stadium other than the Orange Bowl, but I guess money talks these days.
TFoA
That and the original Orange Bowl, like Tank said, is basically falling apart. I'm still suprised that the U plays its games there.

marlinfan
The OB is scheduled to undergo major renovations in the next year or so. I doubt the game would ever return to the OB. Even with renovations to the OB, those will be trumped by the current expansion of Dolphin Stadium. 1997 | 2003

NJTank
I think the move to the new Cowboys Stadium is to try and lift the Cotton to BCS status. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
Jigga
You don't come into the Orange Bowl, baby -- we've had a down couple of years -- but you don't come in here talking trash! Huskyfan82
Apparently, the move to (at the time) Joe Robbie Stadium was because the Bowl Alliance (pre-BCS) wouldn't accept the game unless it moved there. That is also why the Alliance never took the Cotton Bowl, and picked the (at the time) second-tier Fiesta Bowl over the Cotton.David
