Mac the Knife
Sorry, Steeler fans. The team got owned today by the Pats. And I won a buck from my wife, who bet me on the game.
Maz
*Doesnt bother mentioning how if the steelers didnt blitz every single play and eventually made it so they relied on the secondary, and if the steelers offense had done SOMETHING, Brady would be much less a factor.*Im not denying that New england won, but the Steelers couldve easily won also or at least made the game much closer had they done many things differently. No one team is indestructable, we didnt exploit NE's weaknesses, and let their strengths take over.(seriously, id feel better knowing we simply got outplayed, which is probably the case given who NE has beaten and how) Pittsburgh Arsenal - Elite Football League (NFL) - est. 2006

Gostkowski missed a field goal. Moss dropped an easy pass in the end zone. The Patriots could have gone for it on 4th down instead of kicking a field goal in the last scoring possession. The Steelers offense did do something, as long as they kept it on the ground. But then they fell behind, and had to rely on the pass.Bottom line, the Steelers got burnt today. The Patriots far outplayed the Steelers. Maz
*note to self: go back to keeping mouth shut*You and Anthony Smith. Meh. Whatever. As far as I and the rest of Steelers nation is concerned, this is no different than when any other team faced New England this year, and all the team can do is forget about it and continue to play and only worry about New England again if they face them in the playoffs. BCBoy
What an unbelievable job by McDaniels today. What unbelievable play calling. He utilized his players perfectly today. The Pats don't need to run the ball to win, and against a tough Steelers D, it was very smart to give up on the run. Brady was excellent. He and McDaniels were the reasons the Pats BEAT the Steelers today. The Steelers secondary isn't the greatest, no doubt, but Ike Taylor played excellent against Moss, and when he didn't line up vs. Moss, he burned the Steelers twice. Welker is just so smart, and once the Pats took the ball on the one yard line (after a DISGUSTING play call to go with a run by Hines Ward instead of Najeh "Mr. Automatic from one yard out" Davenport on fourth and goal) and drove it down the field, the game was over. The flea-flicker was the defining play of the game though. Anthony Smith has learned a lesson. It's all about the playoffs though, Ben played great in a playoff-type game, no TOs, good throws, great plays, and the run offense was great. The run game worked ALL game long, the Pats have looked very suspect against the run for a couple games in a row now.

buildingmaint
The Steelers did every thing they wanted to do in the first half, run the ball , and control the clock. In spite of that they were still losing at the half. The Steelers goal line goof points out that they don't think they can play Steelers ball . Who are you ? We are the Pittsburgh Steelers . What do you do ? We run the ball , and play smash mouth football . SO what do they do ? A fade pass and a trick run play . The Steelers don't know who they are. They want to be like the Colt's and the Patriot's but they don't have the QB to run that kind of offense. He may some day be that kind of QB but management will never pay for the talent so he can be that QB .
