sacker12
If this is in fact true, then I feel real sorry for Zarah, the first overall pick in the draft. I know him real well since he is still active around the athletic department.
sacker12
Actually, I just heard that the AAFL is back on. Apparently, it was threatened by one of the major investors having to pull out of the deal. But, according to Zarah, his coach in Arkansas said that they were able to find another major investor to take his place, so it is now back on. When Week 2 arrives and they see 10,000 in a stadium that holds 60,000, that may be the end. It'll probably be closer to 5,000 fans there. Interesting Baseball fact: In 1960: Baltimore, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh had 2 AAA affiliates, while Los Angeles had 3 teams...and the New York Yankees had the Kansas City Athletics.Interesting Hockey fact: In 1974, the Buffalo Sabres draft Taro Tsujimoto of the Toyko Katanas with th 183 pick in the draft. It was later revealed that Taro didn't exist, but Taro is still listed as an offical draftee of the Buffalo Sabres in their Media Guide.
