deliver2david
ANAHEIM, CA - APRIL 11: Manager Sparky Anderson #11 of the Detroit Tigers looks on during a game against the California Angels at Angel Stadium on April 11, 1993 in Anaheim, California. (Photo by Andrew D. Bernstein/Getty Images)I was looking for a photo of the Tigers navy alt and ran across this. I didn't remember them wearing orange but apparently they did in 1993.EDIT: Turns out it was a false caption. Thanks, brushchimania.
mania
Is it possible, despite the caption, that this was a BP jersey? Off The Top Rope: A Pro Wrestling Podcast
McCall
Is it possible, despite the caption, that this was a BP jersey?Well, with the sun lighting, it's hard to tell if it's mesh or just the regular fabric. But also, the Tigers only wear their home, or white 'D', caps during Spring Training. And it's been like that for quite some time. I think this may be a pretty big discovery here. I've never seen or heard any inclination of this jersey ever existing. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
deliver2david
Is it possible, despite the caption, that this was a BP jersey?Looks like you are right. I just did a search on Getty for Detroit Tigers and California Angels on that particular date and it pulled up quite a few photos of the Tigers in gray. Big relief! spyboy1
Do you recall this 1995 blue alt jersey, which was worn only once or twice, and was not a BP jersey? Gothamite
We've been talking about that alt for the last several days, but that's a much better picture.NNOB? Really? Wonder why not - they've had names on the back of their regular jerseys since well before 1995. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. Makes you wonder what the line of thinking was for this one alternate. The orange is the 92-93 road BP. It's the only time they've worn full-on orange BP jerseys. Every other time orange has been used as trim. Go Astros!Go Texans!Go Rockets!Go Javelinas!
M59
IIRC, one of those orange BP jerseys turned up on eBay a while back. I really wanted it, but it went for stupid money!
