The Braves offense has gone as bad as milk left open on the counter for 3 days.

Here’s a few team numbers. In the 16-team National League, entering Sunday’s games the Braves ranked:

15th in batting average (.227)

14th in runs (70)

– Tied for 14th in homers (12)

10th in OBP (.328)

14th in slugging percentage (.350)

• Only five teams have more strikeouts than the Braves (135), and all of those teams have far more homers than the Braves.

If I were Jair Jurrjens, Tommy Hanson, Tim Hudson, or Kawakami, I'd be kicking everybody but probably Prado & Heyward square in the ass. It honestly doesn't matter who's pitching at this point, the Braves can't hit ANYTHING. Also, the futility at the plate has led to futility in the field, as they've been making some incredibly dumb decisions when it comes to fielding, baserunning, & other intangibles. Brian McCann pulled a McNabb & had no idea what the infield fly rule was. Chipper Jones has been playing through injury trying to prove Brian Jordan wrong, when he should just sit. Yunel Escobar forgot to tag up on a sac fly, which is enraging considering we can barely score runs & the dude has a brain fart in a scoring situation. We had 4 errors Saturday, & Chipper's error last night basically gave the Mets the W.

All in all, it's probably gonna get worse since the Cardinals are now aware that the Braves are currently in a state of disarray & 3 runs = guaranteed victory.

Of course, nobody's gonna be held accountable for this.

Tonight is just proof that Roy Halladay is not what he's cracked up to be. Last I checked, you could count the number of playoff wins he has on one hand.

wow a rare sighting of the SF Giants Offense.....

Hey, remember how he was a member of the Blue Jays for all that time? Yeah.

He played for the Blue Jays, it's not his fault they couldn't hit or play defense. He's definitely what he's cracked up to be. That's what makes this win so important. THe Giants prepared for this one in textbook fashion. They can hit in the clutch, their starters are exceeding(!) expectations, their pen is strong, and they play extremely well together. I haven't been this excited about this team in quite awhile. Wednesday is gonna be HUGE for the Giants. If Lincecum walks away with the win, he's gonna take the early lead as the best pitcher in the NL.
