Hawaii, Alaska, and the Territories

Could a pro team still work in one of these areas? I imagine Honolulu would be the most likely place since they have hosted many teams in the past from the WFL, NASL, and the PCL. That was 40 years ago, though, so I'm not sure how the Aloha State changed since then. The biggest obstacle I see with this is travel expenses. A team in Honolulu or Anchorage would instantly be the most remotely located club. Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands wouldn't be as bad. Guam? American Samoa? I think not.

But enough out of me, let's hear your thoughts on the matter.

Anchorage already does have one pro team of my knowledge, in the ECHL, but that's one of the larger leagues I could see a city like that hosting; with it's size and location.

San Juan could definitely host a franchise, with it's metro pop. of over 2 million, but it is still a bit far from the mainland, maybe the NFL where you play a lot of games within your division and only once a week, but that's a major stretch.

Puerto Rico may have the population, but it doesn't have anywhere close to the money to support a major league team.

"Major stretch" In a perfect world with no need for money, it might be feasible to possibly put a pro team in PR
