BigRed618
Could a pro team still work in one of these areas? I imagine Honolulu would be the most likely place since they have hosted many teams in the past from the WFL, NASL, and the PCL. That was 40 years ago, though, so I'm not sure how the Aloha State changed since then. The biggest obstacle I see with this is travel expenses. A team in Honolulu or Anchorage would instantly be the most remotely located club. Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands wouldn't be as bad. Guam? American Samoa? I think not.But enough out of me, let's hear your thoughts on the matter.
TorinK92
Anchorage already does have one pro team of my knowledge, in the ECHL, but that's one of the larger leagues I could see a city like that hosting; with it's size and location.San Juan could definitely host a franchise, with it's metro pop. of over 2 million, but it is still a bit far from the mainland, maybe the NFL where you play a lot of games within your division and only once a week, but that's a major stretch. JayMac
I don't like this thread. It may give Bettman or even Goodell some expansion ideas!

PhantomDreamer
Alaska only has 2 universities that play intercollegiate sports. It's also the only state without intrastate college football.Hawaii and Alaska are too isolated from the mainland.
TheRicSlick
Since Hawaii already gets the Pro Bowl ( which is a really crappy game) I could see an expansion to Hawaii.
