elliott
Ya know what? I really don't mind re-colorizations. I kinda like 'em. I understand why people wouldn't, and for those that don't like them, I don't understand why you would want to click the link to view them. IMO, re-colorizations can be quite fun. I remember ColorWerx(PANTONE back when he posted the topic) started a re-colorization thread and a lot of people seemed to enjoy it. Here it is, 18 pages long and a lot of members seemed to be having a blast with this. And a few members that have already posted in this thread did contribute to ColorWerx's in some way. I don't want to point fingers or try to pick a fight, but I don't understand why, if you hate re-colorizations so much, you would click on a re-colorization thread. Just thought I'd throw in my 2¢ on the aspects of re-colorization threads. I like these a lot Delux, some look like they'd work nicely (the Magic in 76ers colors, the Nuggets in Lakers, and again the Magic in Lakers). One thing though, you're saving these in .jpg and when you maximize the window you see all of the pixelation in the logos. Save them in .png next time and they'll turn out a lot cleaner.Well said. The title says this is a re-colorization thread. If you don't like those kind of threads, why are you looking at and commenting on them? And just because someone hasn't mastered Illustrator doesn't mean that they can't add something creatively to this forum. We're all sports logo geeks after all, so it makes no sense to ridicule someone's work just for the sake of making yourself feel better. This is creative? Really? No one here is ridiculing anything to make themselves feel better. I don't even know where you came up with that. You have your opinions. So do I. I think recolors are pointless. And thus, I will make that opinion be known, and don't tell me and others not to comment on it, because if someone posts something, it will be commented on, whether it's positive or not. It's a message board, get used to it. Dribbble ... Behance
Titanium Eagle
Just like you don't see the point of recolors, others don't see the point of going around and crapping on them. It's not even like he's going around flaunting it like he came up with the actual logos themselves. He just wanted to see what they looked like, just like pretty much all the people woh do recolors. I don't see the big deal. Some people make unis/logos, some people make these, some people do both. No need for anyone to be an elitist about it.It was an image/thought in his head, and now its a image on a screen so he (and others) can actually see what it looks like. I thought that was one of the main points of this community, but I guess some people don't agree.
chestnutz
It's not a concept. It clutters up everything and room for people who actually ARE doing something creative. I've seen hundreds of recolors, seeing a bunch of new ones is pointless, boring, and stale. That's MY opinion. erikas | go birds | dribbble

TFoA
Normally I'd agree with the cluttering up of the concepts board, except for the fact that it isn't. We haven't seen a re-colorization thread for a few months now, and it's not like it's a rash of recolors like it was before. It's really one thread.Heitart's post was dead on. If you don't like the re-colorizations, don't click on it. There always seems to be a lot of people complaining about something that they really don't even have to look at. That's just kinda crazy, IMO.Me? I really don't care for it and my thoughts on it are meh unless it's some out-of-left-field re-color. However, you don't see me in the re-color thread railing on about how lame it is.

cappital92
It's looking like the Paint users don't mind, while the Illustrator users hate it. Do we have a bit of a war here?Me, I'm more concerned by the fact that the Hornets and Nuggets look more alike than I thought. http://www.wizardsxtra.com Is it the shoes? jake22
this is cool, he had an idea and shared it with us. I like that, good job and i know me and many others do this kind of stuff all the time. I would like to see more of this kind of stuff, i like well thought out concepts just as much as the next guy but this is entertaining for 5 mins and thats all this kind of stuff is meant for. it is one of those things that i look at and say "huh, cool". people like elliot and others with alot of skills can put this down all they want, but there are plenty of people that like this too THE ROCKIES STIRRUP PROJECTPart 1, Part 2...Oregon Duck Tracker 2011

crashcarson15
Also, IMO the true test of a logo is when it's in other colors than it originally is supposed to be in.Since the Magic logo looks good in mutiple color combos, I think it's a great logo.
