That is cool. The Rice helmet does look a bit like this though...oregon-ducks-2013-blackoout-chrome-wings

More like this, since they wore these in their Bowl Game this year.

rest assured, I do research as much as possible before I lay these concepts out.

Not sure I'm feeling that number font - really clashes with the Old English logo and the script you are using for the nameplate.

I agree with this opinion. Everything else, though is great. The general look really fits the university as a whole.

I will be wrapping up Rice tomorrow and moving on to Texas State. My issue is this...finding early images of Southwest Texas State and even Texas State football uniforms, helmets, etc. The program has been around a long time, just not at the D1 level.

If anyone can point me toward a source, any source, it would be great. I have a few images, but obviously I would like more to draw from.

Thanks in advance.

TXST has been DI since 1987 (FCS)

You can find various uniforms using Bing or Google

Put in "Texas State Bobcats Football" and go to photos

I believe there are a couple in there from the SWT days as well.

You might find something here:

I have pics from the late 2000's on on my facebook page

Helmets through the years can be found at the Helmet Project

FWIW - the font TXST uses was designed by a TXST student and is exclusive. It is called the Wacker Font, after coach Jim Wacker.

@CatMom

Thanks for the info. Actually, I have scoured through a lot this. I'm still searching for more of a historical viewpoint. FYI, FBS is Division 1 and the Bobcats Football program moved up in 2012. They were FCS(Division 2)before that.

Thanks again.

FCS is DI. Formerly IAA. D2 is D2, different animal.

DI is divided into 2 subdivisions, FBS and FCS (1A and 1AA)

It never fails to amaze me how many FBS fans do not understand this.

Had they been DII they would not have been going to DI championship tournaments (in many Olympic sports) all these years. It's not allowed
(baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, etc)

(sorry about the link, can't help it)

I'll check around and see if I can find any more pictures. Don't really think there's much out there but I'll ask on our forums.
