  1. https://www.mlb.com/news/reds-conversation-with-bob-castellini Reds owner and lying sack of human waste Bob Castellini has now spoken about the free agency trades and turmoil that has caused the fans to call him to sell the team. Problem is he spoke with one of his own employees, Reds radio play by play Tommy Thrall, rather than an outside reporter. In all likelyhood Bob reviewed the questions ahead of time only permiting Tommy to ask the ones Bob likes. I dont believe this garbage for one minute. The Reds traded away their All Stars and fan favorites only to get in return minor league prospects, an injured pitcher, and all of the free agency signings have been are one year deals. Sell the team Bob!
  2. When asked by NBC Sports Philadelphia that Phillies were willing to go over the luxury tax for him, Nick Castellanos said "A lot of respect, at the end of the day baseball comes down to ownership. The owner either wants invest and cares about winning or doesnt. It speaks a lot to who he is." A dig at Reds owner Bob Castellini in my opinion. Sell the team Bob
  3. FC Cincinnati makes it two in a row. A 3-1 victory at The Tickle over Inter Miami. Brandon Vazquez with a brace for the second straight match and is now the all time leading scorer for FCC. Inter Miami is as Cincys announcers called them "discombobulated" My only gripe about todays match other than it being a 1pm start time is Luciano Acosta. Today When FCC was awarded a penalty. Brenner (who we pay the big bucks to score easy goals) had just come off the bench. Fresh legs. Acosta started the match tired legs and about to be subbed. Acosta rips the ball from Brenner to take the penalty. Takes so many stutter steps and goes wide. I know Noonan wanted Acosta to take it but Acosta as the captain should have known he was too tired to take it and have Brenner do it instead (he was subbed literally just after he missed). He wanted to take the penalty because his kids were in the stands watching. IMHO he is a horrible captain on the field (this dates back to last year too). He is selfish and holds onto the ball too long. He thinks he is as good as Messi but he's not even as good as Josef Martinez or Jozy Altidore.
  4. It continues. The Reds just traded Amir Garrett to the Royals for Mike Minor. So let me get this straight. The Reds let Wade Miley go because he cost to much. We now trade Garret for a no name veteran who is worse than Garrett but costs the same as Miley. Make it make sense! The Reds roster is starting to look like an Abbott and Costello routine. On another note. I saw that supposedly the schedule for 2023 is changing. Team schedules will be more balanced and will now play at least one series against every team.
  5. Former Red Zack Cozart weighed in on the Reds situation and it pretty much confirms what we've known all along. To the ownership, the Reds isnt a business. Its just a side hobby.
  6. Yup. But the team can afford to keep players once they become good or well liked. That money has to go to pay Votto. Dont get me wrong, Vottos a good player but IMHO is over payed. We had Winker, Suarez, Gray, Nick Castellanos, Wade Miley, Tucker Barnhart and Michael Lorenzen last year. All now gone.
  7. Ive always said the Reds are just the minor league system for the rest of Major League Baseball. Outside of Votto, once a player becomes developed, good and becomes a fan favorite, they trade them away. Owner Bob Castellini has started to become more hated around here than Bengals owner Mike Brown. When Castellini bought the team he issued this letter to the fans. Other than community presence he has not fulfilled his promises. He was one of 4 owners who voted against the final offer before the first games were cancelled. Then reports surfaced of how he tried to get hall of fame writer Hal McCoy fired after he wrote an article that Bob didnt like. The fans have had enough and want him gone.
  8. Losing streak is over! FC Cincinnati gets a 2-1 win at Orlando tonight. They looked better last week in the last second loss to DC than they did tonight but Ill take it. Also it was awfully kind of the Nashville supporters to take some time out from printing their tifos to let NYC borrow the printer for their championship banner
  9. Cincinnati Cyclones playing tonight as the Cincinnati Coneys. Going all in on the Skyline Chili imagery. I know most people have heard of Cincinnati style chili, but for those of you unaware of that shoulder patch that is called a cracker bomb. Its an oyster cracker with a drop of hot sauce. Its basically an appetizer while you wait for your food.
  10. FC Cincinnati just always finds some way to blow it. Up a man late, tied in the dying minutes of stoppage only to give up a handball in the box. Also the stadium had no music or working menu screens at the concessions as the stadiums internet systems were down. Whoops.
  11. Well other than being blown out in Austin I did see some positives from the team in that match. They didnt park the bus the entire game and actually had decent possession in the opposing end. Noonan also used all five subs (which was rare for Stam) and made his first sub well before the 80th minute (which is when Stam made his, too little, too late). Other positives not affecting play is the team finally listened to fans and made orange kits and posted a position lineup rather than just names for their starter grapics on social media, which again fans had been begging for) Goaltending seems to still be a big issue. Many people didnt like Tyton and then Vermeer came and suddenly fans were begging for Tyton again. Now Tyton is gone, and after Kanns performance against Austin, fans are clamoring for Vermeer. Its the circle of suck and when a new keeper comes in and does bad its like fans forgot the old keeper was just as bad and want them back.
  12. FCC has already clinched wooden spoon number 4 after a 5-0 drubbing at Austin FC. After experiencing an unexpected Bengals season, FCC brings Cincinnati back to reality.
  13. MLS Next Pro is now set for 2022. New teams include Chicago Fire FC II, Columbus Crew 2, Earthquakes II, FC Cincinnati 2, Houston Dynamo 2, Minnesota United FC 2, New York City FC II, Rapids 2, and St Louis City SC 2. Fort Lauderdale CF joins from USL League One and has been rebranded to Miami CF II. New England Revolution II (now with new logo), North Texas SC, and Toronto FC II have also joined from League One. Orlando City B joins from League One after taking 2021 off. Real Monarchs SLC, Sporting Kansas City II, and Tacoma Defiance join from USL Championship. Philadelphia Union II (with a new logo), and Portland Timbers 2 join from the Championship after taking 2021 off. Rochester New York FC (the rebranded Rochester Rhinos) are the lone independent club joining from USL Championship having last played in 2017. Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 is also reborn. Having last played in 2017 in USL Championship.
  14. And before you know it ownership will try to move them to Austin
  15. That makes sense. I know in Australia, the Sydney Swans dropped the operahouse and the Sydney Kings are expected to drop the operahouse due to licensing
  16. I actually liked the one year wonder of the Sounders branding from their final NASL season in 1983. im happy for the rebrand just as long as the Sounders name isnt dropped.
  17. Looking forward to FC Cincinnatis kit unveil on Friday. Hearing the kit is orange, which is what fans have been begging for and if below is true, design elements from the Cincinnati flag will be a great touch.
  18. Matt Stafford is a good quarterback. Is he a hall of fame quarterback? Thats yet to be determined. Those years stuck in Detroit may really haunt him. Cincinnati is hosting a rally for the fans tonight at Washington Park to celebrate their run this year. We may not have won the actual Super Bowl but for the fans and team, winning a playoff game was their Super Bowl, winning the divisional game was going back to back and winning the AFC Championship was the threepeat.
  19. The team is only supposed to be for one season, as the Atlantic League expanded to Staten Island for 2022 and Hagerstown for 2023, the league was at an odd number of teams. Rather than play with an odd number or a travel team like other leagues, the Legends stepped up to host a second team for the season.
  20. So when do we start calling them the Quebec Nordiques of Arizona?
  21. Im crushed. We had this until the official decided to finally call penalties. At this point the only joy I can get from tonight is Andrew Whitworth going out a champion.
