  1. I dont think VMC is suitable even as a temporary venue. Lets face it the desert experiment in Arizona should have ended years ago. Its time to move them somewhere else, like Quebec, Kansas City or Houston.
  2. At this point: Baylor-American Iowa State- Big Ten Kansas -Big Ten Kansas State-American Oklahoma- SEC Oklahoma State- Pac 12 TCU-American Texas-SEC Texas Tech- Pac 12 West Virginia-ACC Disband the Big XII, give the American their automatic bid. The Big XII has been a joke ever since they got West Virginia to join.
  3. Oakland lost the Raiders, the Warriors and the minor league indoor football team that hasnt even played yet. The fact that they are close to losing the A's tells me that the city just isnt trying hard enough.
  4. Because the team is the AA affiliate of the Canadiens
  5. I will say this is a definite upgrade over the old one. "Prompted in part by feedback from a variety of important stakeholders, we decided to redesign our logo prior to hitting the turf for our inaugural season. We are excited about our newest logo design as it brings more versatility and options to the many marketing and community relations initiatives we are planning," said George Manias, President of the FireWolves.
  6. I think the stadiums should be downtown or as close to downtown as possible. Its like how MLS tried going out to the burbs for a while with Frisco, Commerce City, Bridgeview, and Chester. It just isnt the same and can be difficult to get to with public transportation.
  7. You can put the new NAHL Kansas City Scouts in the unused bin. The team was sold to new owners who are moving them to Amarillo to replace the recently departed Amarillo Bulls. The new Amarillo team will take up a name of Amarillo hockey past, the Amarillo Wranglers. The Scouts were to begin play in 2020-21 but sat out due to the pandemic. In March of this year the team received permission to be inactive for 2021-22 for the same logistics and pandemic reasons. The reborn Scouts lasted shorter than the NHL Scouts of two seasons while the NAHL Scouts lasted for one season, without even playing a game.
  8. This got me thinking. Is the Bay Area really big enough to support two teams? They've had the Giants and A's since 1968. They had the 49ers and Raiders from 1960-81 and 1995-19. Sure large metros like New York and LA can handle it but can the Bay Area?
  9. OOF! They went from AAA to beer league. Binghamton had a good minor league run 1973-2021 (well more like 2020, since they played their last season in Newark NJ)
  10. From what Ive seen the top places for a team now are Montreal, Nashville, Portland and Las Vegas. Tampa Bay has kinda claimed Montreal already. Las Vegas and Nashville have both built new ballparks. Portland lost its team and ballpark to MLS. At this point if the city/state/provincial government gets involved in funding, Id say Portland has the best shot.
  11. I mean its no different than when the Lakers moved from Minneapolis to Los Angeles or the Jazz moving from New Orleans to Utah
  12. i wonder if that cow pasture in Peculiar, Missouri that Charlie O. Finley threatened to move the Kansas City A's to is still available?
  13. It seems the Quad Cities River Bandits have an identity crisis. The left is still being used as their primary logo and on their website, but the right is being used as an alternate colors logo and is being used on social media
  14. Well it wouldnt be the first time the Islanders failed geography. Remember when they thought Troy, New York was an island?
  15. Good to see the Canucks get their farm team closer to home, however Abbotsford is still quite a ways from the teams in California, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado, even Manitoba. The Kraken are putting their farm club in Palm Springs CA in a couple years. Calgary and Edmonton need to look at getting their clubs to the Northwest.
  16. Agreed. The wordmark is great though. The Mallards maybe collegiate league level but from what Ive seen they operate more like a traditional minor league team so I expected better from this. Honestly I saw nothing wrong with the old logo
  17. If it wasnt for the powder blue uni I would have said the Saints were the Dodgers affiliate
  18. With the CHL Memorial Cup cancelled again, and COVID orders changing in Ontario again, the OHL season has officially been cancelled. The WHL:announced they will not have any playoffs and the season will end upon the conclusion of the regular season. The QMJHL will continue with hosting its playoffs.
  19. I doubt Utah would be back in the AHL. Boise could be an option for the Canucks in the AHL but I dont see that happening as I think the Canucks will place their team in Canada. I can see Calgary moving Stockton Heat north as well if the Canucks move west. They are temporarily playing in Calgary already this season. Billings or Boise could be spot for the Flames. if Boise does move up it could be trouble for Utah and Rapid City being left on an island in the ECHL. Utah has drawn decently in the ECHL (prior to the pandemic anyway) the only reason they are linked with a possible move is due to the same ownership group potentially being involved with Amarillo.
  20. At this point the best bet for Binghamton is to drop to the ECHL. Its becoming harder and harder to get a team in the AHL with many of them now owned by the NHL clubs. I think Binghamton would work well in the E with Adirondack, Worcester and Reading as nearby opponents. As for the Canucks, I can see them in Abbotsford, Victoria or even Vancouver at the Pacific Coliseum. Winnipeg currently has the NHL, AHL and WHL so it could happen or possibly work in Vancouver. If the Canucks go to Victoria, Id try to work a deal to move the WHL club to Abbotsford. As for the ECHL Im starting to hear some expansion rumors. The new commissioner of the league is wanting to expand to get the league with the same number as NHL and AHL clubs. Next season they welcome Iowa and Trois Rivieres and Savannah comes in 2022. Supposedly the ECHL is interested in Amarillo. The NAHL Bulls are leaving for North Iowa after the season and the Civic Center has a renovation proposal possibly involving the Elmore Sports group, who own the local Amarillo Sod Poodles baseball team as well as the ECHL Utah Grizzlies. This could involve a Grizzlies relocation or an expansion team as the ECHL does allow ownership with multiple teams. Im also hearing a rumored return for Manchester, possibly with the Bruins.
  21. Id love to see Dayton and Saint Louis in the Big East as well. Dayton and Xavier had a good rivalry in the A10 years plus the two teams seem a little lost in the A10.
  22. I hope they dont get rid of Chubby entirely. Id like to see him live on at least in a secondary logo
