  1. Round of 32 for US Open Cup is now set and we are guaranteed at least 3 lower level teams to make it to the round of 16 Seattle vs San Jose Sacramento vs Phoenix Cal United vs LA Galaxy LAFC vs Portland Minnesota vs Colorado Omaha vs Northern Colorado Kansas City vs Dallas Houston vs San Antonio Miami vs South Georgia Orlando vs Philadelphia Nashville vs Atlanta Richmond vs Charlotte Detroit vs Louisville New England vs Cincinnati DC vs NY Red Bulls NYCFC vs Rochester
  2. Several good cupsets this year. Heading into the Round of 32 we still have at least 9 lower level clubs still in it.
  3. Update: Its now 9 straight losses and 59-18, by a combined score of 59-18. Hard to tell if they really are that bad or if they are tanking. Either way the Reds are off on Thursday and return home Friday with the Cardinals. It will be interesting to see if the Reds can outdo Oaklands laughable crowd of 3,748
  4. Since Phil Castellini (Reds President, COO, and son of owner Bob Castellini) opened his mouth and told fans " Where you gonna go? Sell the team to who? and to cheer the team and have faith", the Reds have now lost 7 straight games by a combined score of 47-16, have had a lead for just 9 pitches, and have the worst record in baseball.
  5. Yes. Both Protective Stadium and Legion Field are unavailable due to previously scheduled 2022 World Games being held in Birmingham.
  6. Yes the Championship is in Canton.
  7. Boston again? God forbid they go someplace new like Columbus, or Seattle
  8. The Reds front office continue to alienate their fans and continue not to take the blame themselves. On the day of the Reds home opener Phil Castellini (Reds COO and son of owner Bob Castellini) talked about the fans frustrations with the team for trading away fan favorites, dumping payroll for minor league prospects, years of promises not kept, years of dismal seasons, not winning any postseason series and more. Fans have been calling for Bob to sell the team. This is what Phil said today to piss the fans off even more. "You had my faith but you lost it, why should that fan maintain trust in them? Where you gonna go? Sell the team to who? You wanna have this debate? If you wanna look at what would you do with this team to have it more profitable, make more money, compete more in the current economic system that this game exists. It would be to pick it up and move it somewhere else. Be careful what you ask for." His response to that radio clip is just as bad The lies that this family tells. The fans are still gonna cheer for the Reds. The fans are still gonna be loyal to the players. What the fans are done with are the inept ownership for failure to maintain promises, lying to the fanbase, and refusing to take the blame for their own actions. Heres the other thing. The Reds have a big ownership group of multiple people and companies. Bob Castellini is not the majority owner but he is the principal owner and he even isnt the richest owner of the current Reds ownership group. Bob is also 30th in the league when it comes to owners net worths. LAST IN THE LEAGUE. His produce company recently cut 150 jobs to restructure. He spends thousands of dollars donating to political causes, yet cant afford to keep fan favorites or bring in big names. He just cant afford to run the team. Fans have lost interest in baseball and new fans are hard to come by these days. The amount of season ticket holders has nose dived in Cincinnati (several jumped ship for FC Cincinnati and the Bengals). The only time they can get decent attendance is for Opening Day, a bobblehead giveaway or anything Big Red Machine and Pete Rose. If he wants to keep the fans who have remained he needs to sell the team. Sadly, he wont sell and when he croaks will likely pass the team down to Phil to dig the teams grave even further.
  9. Baskin Robbins has changed its look. Ditching the blue and pink for a return to the original brown and pink colors. While I like the idea the 1 on the R seems too forced. I think it would have been better without the serif.
  10. Didnt see that one coming. Guess its time to guess who will replace them in the WAC as the WAC will need a new football member. Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, and Jacksonville State are supposed to be in the ASUN for that conference first FCS season in 2022. For 2022 it leaves Abilene Christian, Dixie State, Lamar (leaving after 2022), Sam Houston State (leaving after 2022), Stephen F Austin, Tarleton State, and Southern Utah (joining in 2022). For 2023 it leaves 5 schools. UTRGV could start their football program early but other wise arent scheduled until 2024.
  11. The fruit didnt fall far from his fathers fruit tree
  12. Something unusual here in Cincinnati. There are still tickets available for opening day. Usually Opening Day sells out quickly. It is a bit different this year. For only the third time since joining the National League in 1890, the Reds are starting on the road. (It used to be tradition that the Reds would be the first game to start the baseball season at home, but now thanks to television packages they just start at home.) The only other times the Reds started on the road was in 1966, when all three home games vs the Mets were rained out and they started in Philadelphia. The other time was 1990 when a lock out delayed the season start and the Reds started in Houston. The Reds front office is blaming the change of start of opening day due to the lock out for not having the home opener sold out. The real reason is fans have had enough of the ownership and the ownership is unwilling to take any blame
  13. The Mississippi Sea Wolves are back. Joining the FPHL next season.
  14. The Reds want you to think they bring in good players and do well in free agency. In reality this is what the team does. It relies heavily on promotions and nostalgia. (Usually bobbleheads, fireworks night or postgame concert or anything to do with the Big Red Machine or Pete Rose. Otherwise its out of town fans (Pittsburgh, Cubs, St Louis) they look to filling the seats.
  15. https://www.mlb.com/news/reds-conversation-with-bob-castellini Reds owner and lying sack of human waste Bob Castellini has now spoken about the free agency trades and turmoil that has caused the fans to call him to sell the team. Problem is he spoke with one of his own employees, Reds radio play by play Tommy Thrall, rather than an outside reporter. In all likelyhood Bob reviewed the questions ahead of time only permiting Tommy to ask the ones Bob likes. I dont believe this garbage for one minute. The Reds traded away their All Stars and fan favorites only to get in return minor league prospects, an injured pitcher, and all of the free agency signings have been are one year deals. Sell the team Bob!
  16. When asked by NBC Sports Philadelphia that Phillies were willing to go over the luxury tax for him, Nick Castellanos said "A lot of respect, at the end of the day baseball comes down to ownership. The owner either wants invest and cares about winning or doesnt. It speaks a lot to who he is." A dig at Reds owner Bob Castellini in my opinion. Sell the team Bob
  17. FC Cincinnati makes it two in a row. A 3-1 victory at The Tickle over Inter Miami. Brandon Vazquez with a brace for the second straight match and is now the all time leading scorer for FCC. Inter Miami is as Cincys announcers called them "discombobulated" My only gripe about todays match other than it being a 1pm start time is Luciano Acosta. Today When FCC was awarded a penalty. Brenner (who we pay the big bucks to score easy goals) had just come off the bench. Fresh legs. Acosta started the match tired legs and about to be subbed. Acosta rips the ball from Brenner to take the penalty. Takes so many stutter steps and goes wide. I know Noonan wanted Acosta to take it but Acosta as the captain should have known he was too tired to take it and have Brenner do it instead (he was subbed literally just after he missed). He wanted to take the penalty because his kids were in the stands watching. IMHO he is a horrible captain on the field (this dates back to last year too). He is selfish and holds onto the ball too long. He thinks he is as good as Messi but he's not even as good as Josef Martinez or Jozy Altidore.
  18. It continues. The Reds just traded Amir Garrett to the Royals for Mike Minor. So let me get this straight. The Reds let Wade Miley go because he cost to much. We now trade Garret for a no name veteran who is worse than Garrett but costs the same as Miley. Make it make sense! The Reds roster is starting to look like an Abbott and Costello routine. On another note. I saw that supposedly the schedule for 2023 is changing. Team schedules will be more balanced and will now play at least one series against every team.
  19. Former Red Zack Cozart weighed in on the Reds situation and it pretty much confirms what we've known all along. To the ownership, the Reds isnt a business. Its just a side hobby.
  20. Yup. But the team can afford to keep players once they become good or well liked. That money has to go to pay Votto. Dont get me wrong, Vottos a good player but IMHO is over payed. We had Winker, Suarez, Gray, Nick Castellanos, Wade Miley, Tucker Barnhart and Michael Lorenzen last year. All now gone.
  21. Ive always said the Reds are just the minor league system for the rest of Major League Baseball. Outside of Votto, once a player becomes developed, good and becomes a fan favorite, they trade them away. Owner Bob Castellini has started to become more hated around here than Bengals owner Mike Brown. When Castellini bought the team he issued this letter to the fans. Other than community presence he has not fulfilled his promises. He was one of 4 owners who voted against the final offer before the first games were cancelled. Then reports surfaced of how he tried to get hall of fame writer Hal McCoy fired after he wrote an article that Bob didnt like. The fans have had enough and want him gone.
  22. Losing streak is over! FC Cincinnati gets a 2-1 win at Orlando tonight. They looked better last week in the last second loss to DC than they did tonight but Ill take it. Also it was awfully kind of the Nashville supporters to take some time out from printing their tifos to let NYC borrow the printer for their championship banner
