2021 NFL Season - Adults Arguing About Matt Stafford
ltjets21 replied to PittsburghSucks's topic in Sports In General
I think the whole debate when it comes to Stafford becoming a hall of famer is its not about who you consider to be a hall of famer, it is about who the NFL considers to be a hall of famer. It seems that being in the hall of fame used to be based upon impact on the game more than production and statistics. I'm a lifelong Jets fan but Joe Namath has thrown more Picks than TD's and is under 500. Same goes for a player like Gale Sayers who only rushed for over 1,000 yards twice. Quarterbacks is tricky because the entire game has changed but players like Bradshaw, Fouts, Moon, and Aikman have pretty poor TD to INT ratios. At the end of the day I don't think it's much of an argument. He will get in just like Rivers, Eli, and Ben. No matter what Super Bowls reign supreme and get you in at the end of the day. Especially because the Hall of Fame never had specific bars you had to reach to make the hall. It is a quite lenient club in comparison to baseball and the argument is pointless because at the end of the day we all know the answer. -
Washington Commanders to debut new NFL identity

So there are stripes on the helmet and jersey but none on the pants and they insist on using solid stripeless socks? Just make it make sense. The W on the front would be fine if it was lower but its just floating in no mans land. Just look how Dartmouth does it. -

Also it is kind of interesting that everyone other than the Capitals changed their name at some point. Bullets--> Wizards, Senators---> Nats different franchise but you catch my drift and now this. -

I have to say that set on the left is better than any of the uniforms in the new set. In other news im deeply going to miss the split stripe. God knows why they couldnt just have that on the pants, jerseys, socks, and even the helmets it was an iconic look. Was thinking they couldve just did the DC flags on the sleeves instead too. Oh well you get what you get. -

People blaming Nike are just so ridiculous. Every team has the opportunity to tell the uniform producers what they want, it was already known that little Rat Snyder wanted black in the uniforms for decades. Look at the Vikings, Lions, Colts, Browns and tell me new mild uniforms cant come out. Its all about what you want sculpted. -

This has been done long before Nike. -

What does it matter if they went with Redhogs? Changing the name is distancing it from the own name I mean lets not act like its not the same exact franchise in the same stadium with the same colors. Changing a name doesn't blank anyones memory. -

Isn't the W the same exact shape outside of the stencil? Pretty corny especially because they came up with the original logo in like a week. -
I feel like these sets every team moved towards just mashing up generations which is an interesting concept. Outside of the sixers nothing really reflected anything in the city like they had in the past. Also surprised to see the Lakers ditch the legacy uniforms as they still had not made a jersey for Jerry West, Kareem, George Mikan, or James Worthy.

The Thunder Delay made me wonder if Sofi could ever host a final four. There has to be some sort of wind or weather that would impact a basketball game.. -
I love how the Rams and Chargers grounds crew leave a sliver of green in the end zone. Reminds me of the rose bowl.
-
The Clippers and Nets city jerseys are both equally the worst uniforms I have ever set my eyes on.
-
It is quite different than the surface from yesteryear.
-
It is madness that they used to play on astroturf. Have to think that contributes a great deal to CTE
-
As a Jets Fan I am very indifferent about these uniforms. I think in the right lighting the colors look amazing. Particularly that matchup against the Rams but the New York on the chest is just downright corny.
-
The only time they ever paint them is for a super bowl. I cant think of anywhere else that refuses to paint them. Even the old georgia dome painted them when it was their chance to host a playoff semifinal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRpKq3tV5Bc&t=78s 2002 Jets vs Packers the Jets covered up the Giants logo with green paint but didn't do the whole endzone.
-
Seahawks should use this shade of green.
-
They could make this trophy so much better.

Also cannot stand where the Raiders and Saints position their logo on the Speedflex. -

I hate when smaller programs do not want a wordmark on the front of their jerseys and as a result have a bunch of empty space as a result of the catalog. Below is Princeton and Bowdoin College.- 273 replies
