  1. Well, Chris-Chan is basically the XPW version of Eugene. More violent, more horny, and somehow more disabled.
  2. Well, Twitter Iron Sheik. That reminds me, somebody wrote in to Cornette’s podcast with this: Corny was smart to shut it down before he got a CWCki entry. You know, a CWC-inspired heel would’ve likely gotten over in Smokey Mountain.
  3. I thought it looked bad. Personally, a “KC” on the chest would’ve been a better alternative.
  4. The big script was a poor match for the home one and IMHO, it looked pretty distorted/bulky. It was like somebody took the later script and stretched it vertically.
  5. I also love that they deleted white outlines on the grey. White outlines are often just clutter. It does bring them closer to the Dodgers, but that’s a minor complaint. When the Reds dump black, I hope white outlines also go away. The same applies to the Tigers and Yankees’ road jerseys.
  6. Yeah. Working with both of them was a frustration for me. Legibility was always an issue. The block letters have history, so I’m cool with that. Thicker stripes are also an improvement. I’m annoyed that the team didn’t make the powder blue jersey the new road alternate with powder pants. Don’t go halfsies like that. Heck, make powder blue the road primary if you really want to go all the way.
  7. At least it commits to its artificiality, unlike the “machined” 1994-2022 scripts.
  8. It seems I was right about the number font! I’m anxious to see the whole font set released. I find myself liking the brand more upon reflection, but I’d prefer a guardian statue face logo to the G-ball. The font is the right amount of “different” for me, helping to set it apart from the old brand in a subtle way. That and a display font is a good way to differentiate the Guardians from the other navy/red teams.
  9. Can we at least agree that Rocks/Rockers would've been the worst possible name?
  10. Well, it starts with dumping the black cap for purple. Then making the black parts of the home wordmark purple, as well as the undershirts, belts, and socks. Do the same on the road as well. Limit the all-black and black-with-purple-bill hats to the alternates. What we want is ultimately a color swap so they're not a black and silver team anymore. Even after changing the purple shade, it still doesn't read purple as much on the home set.
  11. My whole goal was to eliminate an all-navy hat. I hate how grey sets have to get "darker," such as the Cardinals, A's, Braves, and Reds' road caps. The Cardinals markedly improved their look by going back to primarily red hats on the road, while the A's and Reds' batting helmets are proof that the all-green and black-billed caps don't need to exist. Giving justification for the teal-billed hat to be an all-around hat was my desire. That and the acceptance that the Marlins won't do the obvious thing and modernize their '93-'02 designs. One team has to be teal-heavy, yes?
  12. My idea was similar to that, but retains more of the post-’92 character of the set. I don’t think my perspective anchor holds up at all, but you get the idea. A slight trident tribute, but otherwise more akin to the 1993-2014 design.
  13. I did find that because Disney was losing money on the Angels, they could've been contracted and Schott/Hoffman would move to Anaheim. The A's were also in contraction talks briefly, but it was barely considered (as Schott/Hoffman weren't bleeding money like Disney was at the time). Had MLB the chance to do it over, the A's and Rays would've been 1-800-235-DEAD.
  14. Such a move also helped the White Sox stay in Chicago. The ‘68-‘69 squads, despite the AL not wanting to lose Chicago, were one foot out the door to Milwaukee. Getting the Brewers a year after the last of the County Stadium White Sox games didn’t hurt.
  15. I’ll just leave this here. Ignore the new “TC” and it’s a decent update to the ‘87-‘09 design. Or, if we want something more classic: My design bank has a lot of stuff in it.
  16. I’m just curious about the number font and adjusting my guesstimate of it.
  17. Thanks to the magic of the Wayback Machine, I rediscovered this clip! That Dennis McDonnell guy is really on the money when describing The Trop. There's also that emphasis on baseball and the amazing St. Petersburg from the "Florida Suncoast Dome reveal" video, which time has proven an inaccurate assessment of the market.
  18. Hasn’t really been since the ‘80s. The most notable moment in IU basketball since the ‘80s was this: RIP Neil Reed
  19. A bad halftime show accelerated the Black Eyed Peas’ derailment.
  20. October 26, 2007 was the day SomethingAwful discovered one specific resident of Ruckersville, Virginia. Little did that poster know that this discovery would kick off over a decade of concentrated trolling, give birth to numerous other goon-like sites, and end with parental incest.
  21. There's this design for Cleveland AL: (Source)
  22. That old so-bad-it's-hilarious drama from Fox? "Mmm, whatcha say? / Mmm, that you only meant well?"
