    Nah.

Put the modern fin on the chest and relegate the triangle shark to the sleeves (if even on the set at all) and those would maybe overtake them. Oh, and replace the black gear with teal gear (with a black-silver-black stripe).

The new sweater has really convinced me that the triangle shark/shark biting on a stick needs to be tossed out now.

List of successful NFL QBs who played at Michigan.

    1. Tom Brady

    That's it. That's the list.

It’s not like Tom Brady was in his legendary form at Michigan either. So, drafting a good Michigan QB could make for an exceptionally garbage NFL pick.

I think the Mariners could commit to a true sea foam green and not just the Kraken's pale greenish blue that sometimes looks sea foam green but technically isn't. Or they could go with neon green like other teams in town (presumably any returning Sonics team would add it in the way the Storm did).

Y'know, both are a good idea. Provided the sea foam green has actual contrast with the navy base (unlike the current shade) and the silver is either demoted/removed, I could see it happening. The neon green is a little too much of an ask, but provided a relatively tasteful application, it could be done.

The Law & Order font they use now (I'm not kidding, it's the same font) should give way to something a lot less staid. Not the ITC Serif Gothic bootleg used from 1977-86, but something with flare serifs and a degree of weight to it. The font is a much bigger issue for me, significantly more than the colors.

Not 100% sure on the stalking, she always has people breaking into one of her twenty different mansions. However, I don't think it's an outgrowth of paparazzi culture so much as her own brand of lore and world-building:

That’s an entirely fair interpretation, one that makes much more sense in the social media age than in the trashy tabloid/Perez Hilton age. Nobody felt like Amy Winehouse or Britney Spears was their parasocial friend or icon, unlike what Taylor’s fans have done with her.

I’d also go for Lions-Ravens, as it could produce some discourse about Goff’s old Rams contract and Jackson betting on himself (and winning) with his recent deal.

I mean, Madonna and Britney Spears, obvious,

ITT: ramblings about ‘00s celebrity culture. Unspoiler if you want to hear more.

    Spoiler

Also, Taylor comes from serious wealth, unlike a lot of the pop/movie stars from the early ‘00s who got brutalized by tabloid media (Winehouse, Smith, Spears, Lohan, etc.).

She also had the benefit of breaking out after people started backing away from intense celebrity stalking (paparazzi are professional stalkers, IMO) following the Britney ‘07 meltdown. Taylor was also not on the radar of the relentless British tabloid press (see Amy Winehouse).

If she broke out just a few years earlier, she’d probably be getting DUI’s and would have had at least five public meltdowns captured by TMZ’s professional stalkers.

Back to football: I wouldn’t mind the Ravens going all the way, since it would mean that the Ravens overtake the Colts in their number of Super Bowls wins.

I don't think the Chiefs are much like the Patriots, but Taylor Swift is. She's distasteful the same way the Patriots were distasteful: pretending to be an underdog while running up the score.

Because we all need a reminder, she was in Tom Hooper’s Cats and involved with the original song for it.

    Never forget Tom Hooper’s Cats.

Mariners with two fonts on the back of the navy jersey. 🙄  Why even keep the serif number when the other jerseys don't?

That’s this organization for you. One step forward, two steps confoundingly backward.

The Mariners’ design as a whole feels tired, especially now that it has the double outlines. They need a complete overhaul.

Also, the Yankees did the right thing by finally restoring their proper road uniform after so many years with unneeded white outlines.

I don't want to hear about how the 49ers are white supremacists so give me any of the other three but preferably Chiefs-Lions.

I mean, that just sounds like a terminally-online complaint. Staying off of Reddit and the other cesspits should solve that issue.

Get involved in video game speedrunning scenes or other extra-niche communities if you need to detox from sports journalism.

Why does every team play to let Kansas City win? I personally would try to play so that my team won instead.

This is what happens when your defense is injured or ineffectual and playcalling becomes questionable.

Also, it's the Bills. They hit their ceiling and now it's the long fall back down to 1 PM Sunday games.

Good for the Lions. Congrats @Gary

Must be fun to be in Michigan this month. Good for you guys.

I’m legally obligated to say Go Niners, but I’d be so happy for the Lions if they win next weekend.

Same. The Lions are a mighty fine team and I'd have zero issues with them winning next week.

Don't feel too bad about the Bucs, as they hung on longer than first assumed. Bowles should still be on the hot seat though, much like Joe Barry in Green Bay.

Detroit is about to make the Super Bowl, aren't they.

I wouldn’t write off the Bucs that easily, but the Lions’ path to the conference isn’t as arduous as once perceived.

49ers-Ravens: are you ready for some Discourse?

I mean, the Ravens playing any of the remaining NFC QB’s is gonna produce discourse. I think Brock’s recent struggles/Baker and Goff’s occasional issues should indicate that the discourse is goofy fodder only Zombie Deadspin would accept.

We are better off ignoring what Zombie Deadspin says and just laughing at the idea of anybody snatching the MVP from Jackson.

  12. The shark biting the stick is just so utterly stale to me now. The original shark looks like a hand puppet while the second shark is right out of “learn how to draw manga-style” books you find in the worst parts of a bookstore. They’re both terrible and overplayed.

I really wish the fin got promoted when the new set came out, if only to demonstrate the Sharks were truly committed to tearing down their outhouse of a franchise and refreshing everything.

I say this all as somebody who used to be a Sharks fan.

Unocal going off the handle is hilarious. I don't know what the rest of you are on about.

You have a higher tolerance for spam than the rest of us. I'd argue the majority of the board either ignores him or wants him gone.

He's got the most "go away" heat I've seen since Baron Corbin.
