  1. UConn was probably the best team in the country save for a 3 week stretch in January where they lost 6 of 8 to start Big East play. They started 14-0, hit their rough spot, made adjustments and then won 9 of 11. KenPom was always high on them, though.
  2. Didn't watch the game but Orlando looked a lot better the last few weeks with Dormady at QB, so while it's still surprising they beat DC, I figured they were going to catch somebody one of these weeks.
  3. Really feel for FAU, but that was an awesome game!
  4. Yeah, this guy shouldn't get to be an umpire anymore.
  5. Texas choked but I didn't agree with that pivotal foul on the rebound. Think it should've gone against Miami.
  6. This second half is hard to watch with all the whistles.
  7. There are no "bull:censored: title runs" in college basketball. Speaking of UConn... they're up by 25 on Gonzaga after winning their first three games by 24, 15, and 23. Outside of one terrible month this season, they were probably the best team in college basketball. Impressive run so far. Edit: up 31. UConn's an absolute buzzsaw
  8. FAU was ranked above K-State in Ken-Pom coming into this game. Saw a lot of people say they were underseeded going into the tourney. Guess they were right!
  9. No and 4-6 since that's like the 10-game equivalent of 7-9? Or maybe his thing isn't going 7-9, but just winning 7 games. In which case, he'd go 7-3 every year.
  10. Yeah, I don't know. He'd been OC for one of the Gainesville High Schools so that would be a pretty big leap. Plus his playcalling hasn't been impressive for the Guardians so far. It does seem like they tried to draw some interest off of the CFB programs with a former Seminole in Buckley and Matthews calling plays. It's just neither of them are any good and Buckley is unlikable to boot. The Spurrier thing's almost impossible to replicate. Legendary player and coach of the local college's team in a college football crazy state. He left the program near his peak on good terms, is still associated with the school, and was one of the all-time great coaches. I stand corrected... Florida fans would show up for Tebow. He just doesn't come with the guarantee that the team will be well-coached.
  11. It helped that Orlando's AAF team was coached by Steve Spurrier. His involvement alone generated interest among Florida fans, and there's a lot of them in Central Florida. The AAF is the only spring league I've really gotten into and it's owed entirely to his involvement.
  12. Can beating Rick Barnes in the tournament even be considered an upset? Terrible coach once the tournament rolls around.
  13. UConn looks like a buzzsaw right now.
  14. What an awesome game! Japan walks it off!
  15. This doesn't make sense to me. Feel like he could've gotten a lot more.
  16. I'll give you THE METS doing it. He's a professional athlete that got hurt jumping up and down two inches off of the ground. It's a freak injury that could happen doing any number of things. If there was a rash of pitchers needing Tommy John surgery because they overexerted themselves in higher leverage situations than they would otherwise be facing, I'd be inclined to agree with you.
  17. Would be a huge overreaction to what looks like a very flukey injury that could've happened in Spring Training or playing with his kid or walking down stairs.
  18. For what it's worth, Richardson wasn't on the 2019 team. It was Franks, Trask, and Emory Jones. 2020 was Trask, Emory Jones, and Richardson. Plus walkons, anyway. I'm hoping Trask gets a shot, personally. People forget how great he was at Florida in 2020 (against an all-SEC schedule) because he had the misfortune of having one of the worst defenses in the country and a head coach who effectively checked out for the bowl game and wrs that actually checked out. I'll also just add my thoughts on Richardson. I wouldn't touch him as high as he likely goes. I give him a pass in some regards because I think he played hurt last year at times and couldn't/wouldn't run but he gets too far into his own head when things don't go well. Can make some insane throws and then miss the easy ones. Freak athlete but not as effective of a runner as he probably should have been -- don't know if it's his vision or what. I also don't know that his 2022 season is an accurate reflection of his skill or potential. It felt like he decided he was entering the draft after the hype he got after the opening game and then just coasted knowing his measurables would make him an early first rounder.
  19. You're asking the defender to stop on a dime from a full sprint while being pushed. To defend that play, the defender would need to defy physics.
  20. It would be impossible to play defense. Watch that play again and consider how easy that completion would be if the WR didn't have to be subtle with his push-off
  21. Hard disagree on that one. It would be awful if wide receivers could just two hand shove defenders to catch a ball. It would make it impossible to play defense. How would you defend anybody one-on-one knowing the offensive player could just shove the defender away as the ball arrives?
  22. Stoops's dad died from a heart attack on a sideline while coaching, which was a big part of his retiring from OU relatively early. I imagine the XFL let's him scratch the coaching itch in a mostly stress-free way.
  23. This is going to be a rough season. RB is just so far above and beyond. Ferrari continues to waste Leclerc's talent. Max is going to break his wins record.
  24. I would think his mediocre college career would be the thing that scares teams off.
