  1. Those FSU jerseys look fantastic. I love that shade of blue. edit: also want to add that the fire horse spear design is so much better when it's just used for trim rather than the entire sleeve cap.
  2. Florida State hit the jackpot with Jordan Travis. Turned into a great college QB, low threat of him leaving last year because his pro prospects aren't great, and he got a sixth year because of the Covid rule. The offensive line looks porous but it barely matters because you can't get near Travis. Meanwhile Florida got Richardson who didn't stick around long enough to be a great (or even good) college QB before leaving for the league.
  3. Felt like a very winnable game for Florida if they'd just quit the procedural penalties on 3rd-and-short that killed all their damn drives in the red zone. Not thrilled about the lack of discipline but happy with the contributions from young talent. Napier needs an OC or someone in his ear telling him no on some of his playcalls.
  4. Nope, waiver wire priority isn't affected by other successful claims.
  5. Daniel Ricciardo in, De Vries out at Alpha Tauri.
  6. The current format is impossible to broadcast well when there's two or three balls going at a time. The rule where a ball had to land before you could throw the next pitch was a good one but they didn't really enforce it. Also, not a fan of the head-to-head component. I say go back to ten outs and figure out a way to keep guys from taking pitches. That's what killed that format, iirc. The Derby is pretty much the only all-star event I actually enjoy watching and now this format kills it. Does ESPN still do a marathon of all of the past HR derbys on the day of anymore? I imagine they don't since I haven't seen it in forever. I used to love watching that as a kid.
  7. I was cheering for that guy but I'd agree it's not a good look for NASCAR.
  8. What a disaster this weekend is for NASCAR. The racing yesterday was kind of a processional and there doesn't appear to be any great places to overtake on the circuit but it seems like the weekend would've been a success if not for the rain.
  9. I used to be a big proponent of more road courses in NASCAR until it actually happened and now they make a giant mess of every one I've watched since then. I don't know... I guess the cars are just too durable or the back end of the field just isn't good enough?
  10. Kid's incredible! Shame he did it in those uniforms, though.
  11. That was a great game tonight. Gators need to figure out how to score on non-HRs again if they're going to have a chance. Game one should be super important. If Florida wins, I'd imagine LSU has to throw Skenes in game two. Otherwise LSU saves him for game 3 after Florida's pitched their studs in 1 & 2.
  12. This game has been complete domination from Vegas. The sequences that lead to goals three and four were incredible.
  13. Jokic, who may one day go down as one of the greats, was picked during a Taco Bell commercial.
  14. Refs trying to will this series to a sixth game. That call on the Butler three is absurd. Doesn't matter... Nuggets win! edit: a combined 14-63 (22%) from three. Nuggets were 13-23 from the line. Ugly game.
  15. wtf? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37842456/jaguars-play-daytona-stadium-renovations
  16. $60m is better than I would have thought, tbh. I don't think anybody would have reasonably expected them to be profitable in year one.
  17. They outplayed Florida in that game too but Bob played too good and Vegas hit some posts. This is such a mismatch. Florida's only chance is Bob playing out of his mind and, granted, it's possible given the last two series but he's not very good. What an insanely lucky goal that was.
  18. This series is over. Nuggets are too good for this Heat team. Also, why does this league get a pass on its officiating? They were blatantly trying to even this series up and that quick series of three blown calls against Denver that gave Jokic #5 could've swung this game.
  19. I don't know the Reds financial situation but I would imagine it compares favorably to the cheap-ass Rays and TB was able to lock up Wander Franco for 11 years. Wander's contract was 11 years, $182m before he had even accumulated a full year of service. It seems you have to gamble a bit on the player reaching his potential and give up those early cheap years before arbitration but it's well worth it if it pans out. Now the Rays have a 22 yo MVP candidate and the MLB's WAR leader locked up through most of his prime for relatively cheap. Braves did the same with Acuna, iirc.
  20. This series isn't that surprising. Panthers only made it this far because one of the worst goalies in the league this year played out of his mind for a stretch. They lose to Toronto and Carolina if Bob played to form.
  21. I always assumed - mostly because he said so - he'd play long enough to play with his kid, who's a freshman this next year. But I don't know if Bronny is a one- and-done type. I'd be surprised if he retired.
  22. There were seasons I watched damn near every game of those perennial 7-or-8 seed Nuggets teams led by Melo and it really felt like that was pretty close to the ceiling for the franchise. And that was fine because they were fun and weren't the complete joke of a franchise they were when I was a bit younger (25 wins over two years). Pretty surreal watching them sweep the Lakers to play in the NBA Finals now. Just wish I still lived in Colorado to properly enjoy it.
