  1. The announcers spent more time ting on the Padres (talking about Manny opting out, wondering what they'd do if Darvish gave up more runs, etc.) and talking about Alex Cora being in the stands than they did talking positively about the Padres. I'm genuinely sick and :censored:ing tired of the national media constantly ting on the Padres because they always feel the need to pump up East Coast teams.
  2. Wild Card Mariners over Blue Jays 2-1 Guardians over Rays 2-0 Padres over Mets 2-1 Cardinals over Phillies 2-1 Division Series Mariners over Astros 3-2 Yankees over Guardians 3-1 Padres over Dodgers 3-0 Cardinals over Braves 3-1 Championship Series Yankees over Mariners 4-2 Padres over Cardinals 4-3 2022 World Series Padres over Yankees 4-0 Yeah, I said it. We're getting revenge for 1998.
  3. I love the helmet details. That's about it.
  4. Some people still hate Gritty, myself included.
  5. While it doesn't really change your larger point, they did also use silver trim on the numbers on their home and road jerseys from 2000-07.

  7. Even though I'd prefer for them to wear the proper W/W/B look, Arizona looks good in all-white.
  8. Expanding into Quebec City doesn't expand the game in the same way that it does larger markets in the US.
  9. The IceHogs have updated their jerseys with the new logo. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ci0fsTKtc9T/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  10. Say what you will about Sumlin's time at Arizona, but at least it was never this bad. https://saturdayoutwest.com/arizona-state-sun-devils/report-arizona-state-staffers-were-leaking-info-to-help-opponents-get-herm-edwards-fired/
  11. The Reverse Retro has never been just about switching colors on an old design. Several of the very first designs were about taking one era's color scheme and applying it to another era's jersey, like the Kings, Canucks and Capitals. Using the navy and orange on the Oil Drop jersey would fit right in with that idea.
  12. Well, yesterday was a great day and today sucks. I was looking forward to ASU keeping Herm around and continuing to the bed.
  13. That ends up happening because those are the only teams that the national media (outside of NBC giving attention to Notre Dame) cares about. The term "ESECPN" is somewhat accurate.
  14. That ship sailed a long time ago. 30/32 NHL arenas have naming rights agreements. The boards and ice are plastered with ads. The games are interrupted by commercial breaks.
  15. That’s understandable but it’s a shame. I guess I’ll have to start looking for something close for my designs.
  16. Is that a proprietary font or something existing?
  17. That Qatar set is interesting for a set that we'll only see three times in the tournament.
  18. I'm surprised that you limited Oregon to only two helmets and didn't give them a white option. If they were limited to only green, yellow and white, I'm sure that they'd have helmets in all three.
  19. I don’t know why the Oregon QB has his jersey like this… …but this looks awful.
  20. Alright, it's been pointed out to me that Nike's jerseys do not have curved hems despite the images provided by the IIHF that I based my template off of. Therefore, I'll be going back through and editing each of the images to change the hem to straight.
  21. Well, they may already be profitable but the ads can make them more profit. Yes, the uniforms are traditional but no one is immune to the lure in this day and age. Look at Barcelona, for example. They resisted having any shirt sponsor for far longer than any other top-level team did. Not counting UNICEF, which wasn't a traditional sponsorship deal, Barcelona didn't have a front shirt sponsor until 2011. That's nearly 40 years after the first shirt sponsors started appearing. Give it time. No one is immune. Don't take this as me being in favor of it, by the way. I don't like it any more than you do. I've just accepted that it's inevitable.
  22. That solves one problem. It doesn't fix the oversized logo issue.
  23. Every single team is a for-profit business. Do you think that they've never done something more unethical than having an ad on the jerseys? Having ads on the jerseys isn't as unethical as the virtual player slavery and union-busting back in the day.
