In short, yes. Even though they are sister schools, there is some bad blood between them. Despite enrolling more students, SIUE receives less funding than Carbondale. I graduated in 2009, and there was talk back then of separating the two schools. It almost happened in 2018.

SIUE is also doomed to be stuck between two brandings as this was installed a few years ago and the school has said it will not be removed:

After the beaver/falcon/not a cougar logo was unveiled there was a big push to refer to SIUE as the “E.” The school even went as far as painting the slogan on sidewalks around campus. No surprise that did not catch on. Regardless, I felt the siue logo gave the school a look that stood out and made it recognizable in a landscape that often emphasizes block letters. I guess boring is better than ugly. The real miss was not rebranding the school as the Fighting Geese back in 2007 when they released the beaver logo and before they installed a cougar statue on the quad. IYKYK

My alma mater released this today. It was designed in-house, and I cannot imagine a more bland and unimaginative cougar logo. This is what it replaced, and while very bad, the Siue word mark was much better than its replacement.

The Braves City Connect is fine, but flying so close to a uniform set that is still occasionally worn feels lazy. Special series uniforms sound fun in theory, but the NBA, NHL, and MLB have shown that they are underwhelming as a whole. The idea has gone stale incredibly fast.

the only thing about this hat that ticks me off is it proves someone knows how to give an Astros hat the appropriate squatchee. Now if they could do the same for the orange brimmed hat…

I swear New Era does not know how to stay out of their own way. White paneled hats are going to clash badly with a lot of teams’ on-field gear. On the bright side, I’ll be saving money again this year avoiding bad looking hats.

On the topic of simpler logos, this logo is already being used at CITYPARK. Hopefully this is the uniform badge in 2-3 years. I understand people thinking Houston should just use the interlocking HD on their uniform, but I think the hexagon with a lightening bolt would be unique.

The cream alt looks out of place. If you told me it was their City Connect, I’d be ok with it.

I like the hidden trophies and how it is personalized to each player’s total with the team.

Jostens still got the Braves World Series ring. At least Jason did better on the proportions with the Rams ring. The Bucs logo and Lombardi trophies were too small in comparison with the size of the ring.

I know their usual cap is blue but when red is in the team name, and the special event caps are red or blue, I think the cap should be red.
