I don't mind this so much. In my mind, there were two eras of Kobe, with and without Shaq. Kobe was very accomplished during both, so acknowledging this by retiring 8 and 24 is fine with me. For the record, I wish he had stuck with 8 only because it was a number he could have made synonymous with his name.

I don't think it's a very good design. The vertical football layout taken from the 3rd ring has never been a favorite of mine. A horizontal football shape would have been both unique in the ring set, and may have avoided the appearance that 5 trophies had to be forced onto the ring face. I do like the inclusion of a blue stone in the background. Hopefully touches like this become more common again. Gives depth to the ring.

Indians 2016 American League Champions championship ring. Looks a lot like the Rangers 2010 ring. I think a solid red block C would have looked better, but it is what it is.

If this is true, the shanks are great (my favorite aspect of a ring). Not a great modern day depiction of the logo on the face. The blue is too thin. Gives the ring a retro look, but I don't think that's a good thing.

I was a kid when this set came out, and thought the ball going across the wing looked like the wings had arms and we're hanging onto the rest of the A. Outside that, I loved the home whites.
