  1. Most of them wear pullovers or jackets anyways....might as well release the numbers.
  2. Ah true, I forgot the number rules changes in 2021 or 2022.
  3. Because 5 was claimed by Ryan Finley thru the 2020 season per this history. https://aws.pro-football-reference.com/players/uniform.cgi?team=cin&number=5 The league also forces players to buy the existing inventory of their old number if the player wanted to change immediately. Dalvin Cook found this out a few years ago when he wanted to switch from 33 to 4. It says i the below article, that "Cook learned that if he waited a year, he'd be able to make the switch at no cost. So that's what he did; the Vikings' star running back spent a fifth and final NFL season with 33 on his jersey in 2021." https://www.si.com/nfl/vikings/news/vikings-dalvin-cook-switches-no-4-jersey-number-family#:~:text=But then he found out,"That's important nowadays."
  4. I know the Buccaneers usually do for non Bucs events. It might be a dual purpose closing just based on timing.
  5. I believe under pre 2023 rules, the throwback could be worn no more than 5 times as this is what the Rays have done with the Devil Rays throwbacks. Moving forward from 2023 onward, the Devil Rays throwback is an official alternate on the books and will be worn Opening Day and every Friday home game (14 games in 2023)
  6. I wouldn't get your hopes up. With now allowing 0 and the kicker/punter rule, its essentially no different than the college football rules. It's really a very minor change to the league. It's not like they added a 12th eligible player or something odd like that.
  7. I'm a South Florida fan, and the chrome helmet DOES look bad (specifically the gold one, but the lime green one too. Fans don't like them either. Thankfully the gold chrome seems to be out of the rotation as of last season
  8. The Rays may not have said it officially, but the local beat writer for the team reported it last year when talk of dropping the gray jersey started.
  9. Not exactly, the full color version of the hat has silver letters All of the team color hats seem to be the primary jersey color, outside of Baltimore (Ravens hat is black). Might be a clue that the Panthers will have a blue home jersey...
  10. Just speculation now since the Panthers jerseys are discounted on Fanatics like the Cardinals.
  11. We also found out the 2023 City Connect release dates. Assuming the rest of the remaining teams without a City Connect will be in 2024.
  12. Have the A's worn the dark green jersey in the past few years? I seem to recall only seeing the kelly green being worn lately.
  13. USA pulling out the blue jersey tonight. Has Japan worn anything but the white pinstripes this year?
  14. Lets get Arizona's house in order before we start adding more teams to the NHL. Honestly, while it wouldnt surprise me if the NHL expands past 32, I think the NBA expands first, and maybe even MLB.
  15. I also checked all teams jerseys on Fanatics, and as of today Carolina's jerseys are discounted at around the same discount too... hmmmmmm
  16. Normally I'd chalk this up to Fanatics and their ever rotating discounts codes, but today is just a fee shipping offer and all of them look to be about 25% off for now. https://www.fanatics.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/jerseys/o-4661+t-58598953+d-1911345+z-8-3643743552?pageSize=72&sortOption=NewestArrivals I checked a few other teams that we know aren't changing and the discounts aren't there. Something is definitely afoot....
  17. I've always wondered if the WBC could work as a fall tournament in November. I know football is king that time of year, but other than March I can't see another possible option. I would doubt MLB would pause the season or have this run concurrently in June/July.
  18. Interesting. I watch most of the Lightning games on Bally Sports Sun and I haven't seen a puck tracker. Occasionally they'll add the player labels, but its very infrequent. Maybe every Bally network can adapt and incorporate these features to their discretion?
  19. Sorry, but FIFA rules for national eligibility aren't that different than the WBC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_eligibility_rules WBC Eligibility https://www.mlb.com/news/world-baseball-classic-rules-and-regulations-2023
  20. So the FIFA World Cup is meaningless? Don’t tell players that playing for country vs. club is that different.
  21. If you saw it live or replays, you'd see that Diaz was seemingly celebrating responsibly, so I presume he knew to keep it calm. Watching it live, nothing looked excessive and then all of a sudden Diaz was sitting down on the turf. It was a freak injury that could have happened in the dugout in Miami or on the field during spring training in Port St. Lucie. Anyone who says or thinks this should stop the WBC is being a little overdramatic. Stop grasping for straws because YOU don't like the tournament.
  22. I knew I had heard about why and its inspired by a song. https://www.sportskeeda.com/baseball/news-is-team-mexico-jersey-wbc-inspired-popular-song-exploring-tradition-behind-iconic-unofficial-anthem
  23. Probably just the replicas sold at the stadium and team controlled shops. Just like the NHL and NBA I believe.
  24. +1. Agreed with this. Brady on the Pats was frustrating to watch because it felt like he couldn't lose. Then he comes to Tampa Bay and I saw a different side of him. Those Tommy and Gronky skits they shot on the practice field were hilarious.
  25. If you're Mayfield, why would you go to the Rams and be the backup instead of Tampa where you're probably the starter.
