Oddly uneven sports divisions are the dumbest idea I have ever heard....end of story.
-
My gut feeling is that the Big 12 is the next conference to make a move. I think you'll probably see them select Florida State, but who their second choice is is up in the air. It could be Cincy, Clemson, or anyone else.
-
Well Maryland and Jersey both at least touch the B10 footprint. West Virginia doesn't even come close to Big 12 country.
-
Uconn could be the target to replace Maryland. If this happens, expect to see the Big 12 make some moves somewhere.

500 posts I believe. Please remember quality, not quantity. -
Their original logo was too close to the logo of the Jaguar car company. I remember them trying two different logos that Jaguar objected to - the full "leaping" jaguar and another logo that kind of cut the cat in half. Probably a modification of this one:

I believe that was one of multiple options for when the red alternate sweater was originally was released

You have to have a few more posts I believe. Stick around, enjoy the site, interact, and don't post pad and you'll meet the minimum soon. -

I know its a photoshop, but just for kicks -
So theoretically, a Big East/ACC football merger could be: North Boston College Pitt Syracuse Rutgers Uconn Temple Cincinnati Louisville South Miami Wake Forest Georgia Tech South Fla Cent Fla SMU Houston Memphis If this were the case, I see Boise and SDSU retracting to Mount West again.
-
If nothing happens on the side of MLB and/or the Giants, the A's could very well try this tactic.

My gut says that if anyone goes Big 12 with FSU, it's Louisville. They've pretty much told the Big East they're out if a better deal comes around.
-
As the fan of a Big East school in Florida, my best case scenario is for FSU to bolt to the B12 and open a spot for South Florida to replace FSU in the ACC. Pretty much both conferences are similar on a competitive level, but the ACC is far more stable.

New rumors coming out about Florida State and Clemson to the Big XII http://saturdayblitz.com/2012/05/04/clemson-and-florida-state-to-big-12-conference-rumors-run-rampant/

If anything happens, it'll start as a 4 team playoff. After that, I am sure they'll judge it as time passes and decide whether expansion is necessary.

I think of Colby Rasmus as a Cardinal before a Blue Jay. -
No, as long as Notre Dame is there for the taking. Yes, but how realistic is Notre Dame, unless they are forced to join a conference? Temple to Big East probably wont happen as well, not just because the BE booted them years ago, but because Villanova will band allies against it.
-
I have a feeling the Big East will elevate someone to move into the conference for 2012. Most likely not Boise, but maybe Memphis.
-
Semi-on topic, but looks like we could see 7 wins become the minimum for bowl eligibility. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/16996317/growing-belief-seven-wins-should-be-magic-number-for-bowl-eligibility

I'm really hoping that this addition is a start towards a succession of the BE football schools to form a new conference.
-
Well, at least for now. Tank's link still quotes the commish as wanting to have a 12-team conference. My guess is that this move came first, and that when Cuse, Pitt, and WVU leave then 2 more will be added.
-
Finally... Boise State, 4 others to join Big East in 2013 Football Only Boise State San Diego State All Sports Central Florida Houston SMU

You could split the Virginia/North Carolina region so that both divisions have 2 NC teams and 1 Virginia team. VA Tech needs to be in the Atlantic to balance the power teams. Duke/Wake and UNC/NC State are interchangeable, but I see UNC/Duke as a better division rival. ACC Atlantic (North) Boston College Syracuse Pittsburgh Maryland Virginia Tech Duke North Carolina ACC Coastal (South) Virginia Wake Forest NC State Clemson Georgia Tech Florida State Miami True, but in reality, the four NC schools are relatively in the same area of the state. It's not like they're that spread out.
