  1. Bob Costas has stepped down from Olympics hosting and will pass the torch to Mike Tirico. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/bob-costas-steps-aside-as-olympics-host-mike-tirico-to-take-over-140937881.html Cant say this is a surprising move.
  2. I guess if Hartford is going to have a team, it's probably best as the expense of a NY regional team. I never understood the reason for 3 NHL teams in NY metro.
  3. Is the izod center in Jersey still functional? Maybe a stopgap if a new arena needs to be built.
  4. Seattle and Quebec are really the only foreseeable options as I don't see the NHL or any league for that matter going past 32 teams. Quebec has an NHL ready venue, and my gut says that at some point in the next 5 years that Carolina moves there. Seattle will be the expansion team 32 if and when their arena gets footing.
  5. And that wasn't my point with removing those, just coincidence. It feels like bowl games are like participation trophies. It makes it more special if there is a supply and demand kind of thing.
  6. I can think of a few more that can probably fall off the list too: - Arizona Bowl (when you cant get a TV deal with ESPN or another big network and stick with the American Sports Network you're destined for failure) - Bahamas Bowl (yes, its a nice location, but there's a reason why the MAC and CUSA are your affiliations) - Cure Bowl (one stadium doesn't need 3 bowls) - Birmingham Bowl and Camellia Bowl (Birmingham and Montgomery don't wow me as traveling cities.) - Potato Bowl (I know they've been in the lineup for a long time, but it's Boise in December....hard nope.)
  7. I don't get it, what was Donovan doing that was improper or illegal?
  8. I wonder what Falcons red endzone white wordmark would look like to reflect how it looks on their home jerseys.
  9. I'd say he is spot on for the endzone colors for the four teams. The only year that I recall alternate/secondary color endzones was SB34 when Tennessee has light blue over navy and the Rams had gold over royal. As for the Steelers, have they ever had a black Super Bowl endzone? SB42 and SB45 both had yellow for sure, and I believe 40 did as well.
  10. Let's be honest, this is a wood duck: Id say they did a spot on job at a logo. Bring on the woodland camo alternates
  11. Every national sport has a national broadcast of their championships (MLB, NBA and NFL) It's just the way things are right now.
  12. Close off the upper deck in KC and you'll be fine.
  13. Best new team name of 2016!!!!!! ...but seriously, not surprised they went simple and save the new ID for the Fayetteville ballpark in 2019.
  14. Sorry, but there are ways to have a roof that lets the light in. Look at that new Vikings stadium, and ive even heard that that clear material can support grass growth with the sunlight. A retractable roof that will be used sparingly is an increased cost that isn't needed. Add some ability to allow fresh air inside and I'm good.
  15. As for my comments, I don't mind the original names for minor league teams, but my gosh 2016 has been a year full of hot garbage in MiLB: - Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp - New Orleans Baby Cakes' - Florida (ugh) Fire Frogs - Binghamton Rumble Ponies Chihuahuas and Shuckers are golden compared to the stuff from 2016.
  16. Can I get an idea of where the Suns arena/DBacks park is at as I think they are neighbors?
  17. I believe the Bowling Green Hot Rods were considering Cave Shrimp as a name as well...
  18. Binghamton will unveil name tomorrow at 1030am. http://www.binghamtonhomepage.com/news/local-news/b-mets-to-reveal-new-name-logo-and-colors-on-thursday My gut says its Rocking Horses, as Brandiose tweeted an image earlier that says "this name ROCKS"
  19. The Jacksonville Suns name has history, dating as far back as 1962. I understand the front office and ownership have changed recently, but this is a brash move. I hope its a fools joke as this one clearly came out of left field.
