Yeah that looks like a mid-2000's era hat.  Which isn't a good thing, fashion typically only becomes cool again after 25-30 years so there's still some time needed until they can bring those designs back.

Apparently New Era is also doing different sideline caps for home and away this year? Is that something that they've always done and I've just been too oblivious to notice? Or is it something that's done in name only, i.e. they have home and away caps but the coaches only wear the home ones all the time?

Either way, the road caps feature a blacked out or predominantly single color logo outlined in the team color. For some teams, I think it actually works pretty well. For others, not so much.

That Steelers hat is hilarious! Whose bright idea was that?

I ordered the Nick Chubb Vapor Limited Jersey. I have a good feeling he's not going anywhere.

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell: But running backs are fungible and should all be given one-year deals at the league minimum and used no more than absolutely necessary!!!!!1!

I hate the gray facemask here just like I hate it for every team that uses it that doesn't have gray in their color scheme or anywhere else on the uniform.

I think the Browns should wear a white facemask with their regular uniforms. But grey works for throwbacks, and, really, it’s not THAT bad with the regular set. I’d still take it over brown facemasks, which just don’t look right to me.

It’s too simple for it’s own good. As a jersey on its own it’s bland, the gold part of the uniform completes it but if they were to add the drop shadow it would add the necessary depth in look that would carry it and would look good on it’s own.

Plus that would stop them from wearing white socks like they seem to want to do with the white fauxback. Win-win!

I doubt they were trying to mimic the tail and making it look like it’s eating the horses ass.

I mean, if they’re into that kind of stuff, then more power to them, I guess...

The Seals were many colors and names throughout their short, chaotic history; they were originally kelly green/white/blue as the California Seals, then renamed to the Oakland Seals, then renamed again to California Golden Seals when they moved to kelly green/gold/white after Finley bought them in the 70's and later recolored again to teal/yellow/white for their final two seasons.

The Seals were not a very stable brand, to be mild. 😛

These are new Team Classics jerseys, not on-ice jerseys.

I like the teal and bright yellow color combo. It would be kind of cool to see a team pull that off today (any sport).

I mean most of the CCM V-series was inaccurate when you think about it. None more so than the only Ottawa one they made (outside the Alfredsson jersey retirement line) and it pissed me off when I first saw it working at Icejerseys and It still pisses me off now.

but those CCM vintage sweaters were a thing of beauty, I have two (the Maroons one and a Sens one) and they are amazing to wear in the fall and spring time. They also fit snuggly as the Maroons one is a size small and the Sens one is and XL but realistically the XL one is like a large 550 but snugger on the shoulders and underarm.

Is that Senators sweater brown, or is it just the lighting?

Honestly, if it wasn't for the gradient, this would actually be a pretty decent set right here. Perfect? No.  Good? Yeah, I'd say so. Where they went wrong was the bone and gradients

The gradients don’t really bug me - in fact, I like the gradient numbers on the blue jersey.

If you ask me, they went wrong by giving the bone jersey and pants predominantly yellow instead of blue trim, and by segmenting the horns.

Surely the NFL and Nike- who have way more resources and money than the CFL and New Era- could accomplish something similar...

They could but don’t want to. And don’t call me Shirley.

I call it the 2020 effect. 2020 makes things that happened six months ago feel like they happened 6 years ago. I just celebrated an insignificant anniversary of something that took place on July 11, 2020. It feels like that little event took place five years ago. 2020 really knocked us off our time axis or whatever you want to call it. I've been around a long time and I can't remember a year that has as much of a "before and after" feel. Even 2001 never felt like this.

Since I'm here, the new Rams jerseys are pretty solid. Nothing to write home about, but it could have been a lot worse. I give them a 7.

Dude, I feel you. My last haircut was sometime around February of 2020. It feels like I’ve been growing it out in a Fabio-esque fashion for my whole adult life, almost.

WFT using Warriors would be terrible, because it just seems like a back door way to go back to the “old ways.” Unlike GSW, they don’t get the benefit of the doubt.

Potomac Drainage Basin Indigenous Persons. That is the only name they should ever have. EVAR!!!!!!1!!!!

In all seriousness, preferably just something that’s not two words. San Fran has the only two-word nickname and it can easily be abbreviated numerically. Just something that lets them keep their solid color scheme and actually have logos on their helmets.

A recent Madden promo showed off the Bengals’ new white over black combo. IMO this looks fantastic matched up with the Steelers and Id love to see it any day over the washed out all white.

I also think that the black jersey paired with the simple white pants with the black stripes looks very sharp. If they stuck with these two combos for the home and away and burned the orange stripe pants, this update would be near perfect and always match up well against their AFC North rivals. However, I can't expect them to be so wise.

All-white just needs black or orange socks, really.

Since the Ravens use the actual colors of their mascot, then make the beak on the Raven black as well, and again, lose the "B" on the helmet.

I’m sorry, but it’s a well-known fact that actual ravens have a red capital B on each cheek.

EDIT: the B is gold, the eyes are red. But my point remains the same.

I thought it's been established that you are the junction of your own unique Venn diagram 😁

I am also a unique Venn diagram, but don’t talk much on here about my other weird interests. Haha

As a lifelong Viking fan, let me say for the record that I don't give a rat's butt about whatever color helmets the Ravens wear.

As long as the facemasks are grey, right?

They've also only had a black helmet since day one. And the Vikings have had a purple jersey and purple helmet since day one in 1960. Obviously a team can't own a color but it's ridiculous to think that if the Vikings made a black helmet or Ravens made a purple one that it wouldn't look like they're copying each other when they have such a similar color scheme. Vikings should have a purple helmet and shouldn't try out a black one, and the Ravens should have a black helmet and avoid a purple one.

Ravens could make a black helmet with a purple sheen work. They shouldn’t try to go straight purple though.

It seems like the NFL modified the amount of times you can wear an alternate since there's 18 weeks as opposed to 17 weeks now.

49ers will wear the red jersey 4 times and the white one 2 times. I'm a bit concerned by how much they get to do this, but I want to feel like they got leeway because they are the 49ers and this is how the uniform was in 1994 but that's just wishful thinking.

It was how the THROWBACK uniform was in 1994. Their main set was still the Joe Montana look. I never much liked the drop-shadow throwbacks. The 49ers don’t look good in white pants to me.

Speaking of the Lions, they really need to look into adding a set of white pants that are striped, as well as adding white striped socks.

Striped socks in general could benefit the looks of several teams.

Knowing how Nike has handled the gold color of a certain LA basketball team, the Rams will be decked out head to toe in highlighter yellow.

Knowing how Nike has handled the red of the other LA basketball team, the Rams will be wearing black.

Look for two, possibly three nice throwback looks, followed by an avalanche of absolute garbage.

Buccaneers, Broncos, Eagles, Patriots, Titans/Oilers, Chargers, Falcons, Steelers, Bills...heck, a couple years ago people were clamoring on here to see the Jets stick with white helmets while going back to kelly green. They can do the proper Namath throwback that they wouldn’t do when their unis were so close that casual fans wouldn’t have noticed the difference.

Now, will some teams trot out garbage? Um, yeah. (Looking at you, Rams.) I do like the idea of throwbacks being possible again, though.
