  1. I'm probably alone on this one. But I've always thought this jersey with the striped orange pants would be an interesting combo. Still don't understand the reasoning behind the ultra simplified color rush set. There were rumors that the team wanted to ditch the TV numbers too but the NFL wouldn't allow it.
  2. The way I see it, I've been a fan for my entire life and the Browns have never had a franchise QB. Constantly drafting bust after bust wasn't working. The only other option is to trade for one, which is what they did. They jumped at the chance to get a 26 year old 3x Pro Bowler. They had no choice but to act in desperation. The general understanding based on past suspensions was that he would get around 4 games. Nobody expected a full season or even the 11 games he got. Especially after he was cleared legally. Bringing in Jacoby was a pretty great stopgap to cover the suspension. Had the defense played at an average level I think that team would have been in the playoffs. I'm not worried about the financial situation of the Browns 5-10 years from now. Nobody knows what the salary cap number will be at that time or which contracts will be restructured. Keep kicking the can down the road and deal with it later. Right now I only care about next season when Chubb and Watson will be back. This season is cooked.
  3. Remember how many people mocked the Browns and Mayfield from the second he was drafted? Remember how he was cocky, arrogant and basically just a game manager? I literally had to hear about it on a weekly basis. First they were dumb for drafting him and now they are dumb for trading him away. He never got any credit for wins and was always the punching bag after losses. I'm sure if you go through the NFL season threads here, NFL reddit and Twitter you'll find a million posts trashing Baker while he was in Cleveland. Not only that he had a strained relationship with the front office, coaches and players. He wanted Mahomes money and played through a torn shoulder to prove it, costing the team games. Myles Garrett is a once in a generation player and had no interest in playing on a team with him anymore. Is it worth keeping Baker around if it means losing Myles? It already cost them OBJ and Landry. How many other players would have bailed? He was my favorite Browns QB, but there was no realistic scenario where he could have stayed. The Browns had to something and like half the league, they went after Watson. Just so happens that a bidding war drove up the Texans asking price and only 5 teams were willing to match it.
  4. Congratulations. Glad you're doing victory laps after a season ending injury which will lead to another season gone down the toilet. Something Cleveland fans have dealt with my entire 30+ years being a fan. I guess you'll just say we deserve it right...
  5. I almost spit out my water when the creative director said that when designing uniforms they have a "reductive approach." Testing what they can take away to streamline/simply the designs. While I think Nike has had some good and bad. I always feel like even their best uniforms have a few elements that are completely unnecessary. Then there are some sets that are dialed up to 100 and they threw every idea they had at them. Imagine looking at the Rams, Titans, old Browns, Jags, and Bucs and saying they were reductive.
  6. The fact that he's wearing T-Macs makes this so much better.
  7. Judging by the courts, this makes sense and will be terrible. But I would assume only City uniforms for the home teams right?
  8. So each team is only guaranteed two home games in the tournament correct? Seems like a big waste of time and money.
  9. Not only that, the team occasionally wears white helmets or white facemasks now. So for at least 4 games out of the year it doesn't accurately match what's on the field. Hopefully it's on borrowed time.
  10. Bingo. This logo is so terrible on so many levels. It only lasted a few years, which ended up being the only time in my life I actually watched wrestling. I just assumed it was supposed to be some abstract symbol. Literally never noticed the WCW for the longest time. So not only does it look incredibly stupid, I wonder how many people actually noticed the letters.
  11. I think Miami (OH) has won the award for the most ridiculous location for a football photo shoot I've ever seen. ...a hockey rink? IcY wHiTeS!
  12. This is driving me insane. Why would they split the team name in half like that? It would be like a Miami HE [flaming ball] AT logo or Minnesota WI [bear head] LD. Unless the logo/icon is a letter or the shape of a letter like the Spurs. There's no reason to use it as a read through. Especially when they could have easily just fit RUSH above the bison head.
  13. This. Pick a shade of blue and more importantly a consistent shade of silver. I honestly wouldn't even care if the silver pants were a tad darker than the helmets like they did in the 70s. But the fact that they look light blue/teal drives me insane.
  14. Agree completely it's a big upgrade. My only criticism is that every time the down+distance would flip I'd think that there was a penalty. Especially when using the bright green for the Jets. Maybe it was just me, since I'm not really used to seeing that much movement on a score bug after every play.
  15. I'm fully expecting it to be a fluke and the Browns to lay an egg on MNF against the Steelers.
  16. Seems like orange pants are almost automatic at this point for division games. Aside from when the throwback is used. Really wish they would have switched back to the white facemasks permanently.
  17. "new logo that drew several criticisms for its similarity to the Charlotte Hornets' logo." Might be one of the biggest understatements ever. That logo was a blatant ripoff of an NBA team's logo and everyone noticed it immediately. This new logo is better. But just about anything would have been. What is Delaware State's rebranding process here? Why not hire a legitimate agency/firm to create a unique identity? Seems like they desperately just wanted to create a new logo as quickly and cheaply as possible. This is a Division 1 school that put less effort into a rebranding than some High Schools I've worked with.
  18. I've always felt like replacing red with bright orange would be a great way to move away from the Oilers branding and make it more "Tennessee". Using it as an accent color, along with light blue and navy/black/charcoal could be cool.
  19. It was pretty amazing too that so many people saw those concepts and thought they were legit.
  20. I mean it's not terrible and could be a lot worse. Way better than the gator skins alts. Still completely unnecessary.
  21. Not sure what was going on with the Browns pants last night. But they seemed to be more see through than I remembered. Everyone looked they had sat in white chalk, but it was just the compression pants underneath. It was really bugging me the entire game. Did Nike switch up the pants too or are these the same ones teams have worn for years? Apologies if this has already been talked about....
  22. Not sure why, but it sort of reminds me of this meme. The Vermont logo is an upgrade. But could have been much better if it had white eyes and teeth.
  23. My first thought when I was watching the teaser video for "ViceU" I just assumed the Miami Hurricanes were about to do something incredibly stupid. I was relieved to find out it was just FIU. But man these are horrible.
  24. The NFL needs to stand their ground. The rule is that teams can only wear alternates helmets with alternate jerseys. Shouldn't be any exceptions. Do we really want the Cardinals or Commanders wearing a black helmet with red jerseys, Bears orange helmets with navy jerseys, Browns wearing white helmets with brown jerseys, etc? If the Bengals are insistent on wearing white helmets, then either use the old white CR set or make a new alternate.
